If you look at my post on page one, you'll know that I Love PC! The only thing I can't help but roll my eyes on is the Caspian and Susan scenes! 8-| =; . But I Love the rest of it!

I think they did a good job with what they had. The book isn't boring to me, but it's not my favourite of the series either. I'm not too fond of some changes, Caspian/Susan being the obvious one, but also Peter and Caspian's conflict. So long as I learn to accept the movie as something separate from the book, I can be happy. :)

yeah, they didn't have much to work with. did you know that Andrew Adamson almost didn't do PC? he almost decided to just pass PC and do VotDT with a small opening scene to explain who Caspian is. that would have been worse then the changes they made in PC! so at least they made PC at all..... :)

Liberty Hoffman: Really?! I didn't know that! That would've been horrible... I'm really glad they didn't skip PC, even with all the changes they made. That definitely puts things into perspective. :)

When I saw the film it was a few weeks after Americans had seen it, I knew all the trailer shots, and was familiar with a lot of changes that had been made. It made it hard to concentrate the first time, because I just kept mentally ticking [US "checking"] everything I recognised (yup, seen that!)

Now after 2 years I accept it as it is; I don't have to like or watch every bit every time, but I do enjoy almost all of it.
It did also suffer from being the sequel, so that there wasn't the "gasp, here it IS!" factor we had with LWW, or the magic feeling when I saw the start of FOTR in 2001.

There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.

Actually, if they had skipped it I wouldn't have minded as much. I don't think anyone understands how much I despise that movie. I probably would have been upset but if I had known it was going to be a horrible adaption, I would have been happy.

Happy Belated Birthday, PC! (I did watch it on the 16th but just now re registered here) I am a book purist to one book only, The Holy Bible (KJV). Therefore, the changes that upset me the most are the ones that go against the biblical truths in the books. I thought that the movie did a great job of showing the consequences of pride, not waiting on the Lord, and doing things in our own strength. The only change I will mention that I didn't like (as the others are well talked about) was the belittling of Aslan's omniscience - "we will never know what might have happened."

Aww, Happy Birthday, PC as well! :D Two years later, my feelings remain pretty much the same. There are many little things I wish they would have changed (further character development, Aslan's lines), but overall, I still like the movie. For me, it's not one I would watch over and over again. I still appreciate the themes of faith and trust that the movie portrayed, so I'm pretty satisfied.

amen to that! very good point! that is exactly right! thank you for posting that :)
I agree. :D we shouldn't be worried too much about small changes to a book that is not the Holy Bible! at least, I don't.

Happy Birthday PC! It was a good movie...I just wish that they had left the characters pure. Peter was my favorite but the way that they portrayed him made him seem petty and I didn't appreciate that. But besides that I thought the movie was fine.

I am not sure about that line. There was a pause before he said that and something about the way he said it made me think there was more to it. I think that was inteneded. Notice he said WE will never know. I kinda took that as, "I know but it's not for you to know." I think he did know but chose to answer vaguely so Lucy wouldn't live with the guilt of knowing she could've prevented all those casualties. I think it was also a reminder to take risks and make the right choices so you won't have to wonder what might have been. I don't think God wants us to beat ourselves up over things that could've been (which is what Lucy would've done). It's not our place to know such things. We have enough to worry about with what is and there is nothing we can do about what might have been.
