Alfonso Cuaron is a great choice. I loved his take on HP 3 and Children of Men was a fantastic movie.

Doctor Who - Season 11
I would say Andrew Adamson, he did such a good job with the first 2, if he couldn't come back I would say someone new, definitely no Apted(no offence).
Alfonso Cuaron! Alfonso Cuaron! Alfonso Cuaron!
Sorry, I'm probably spamming but you get the point.
Besides, it should be possible since Mark Johnson produced a Alfonso Cuaron's film (The Little Princess) before and Johnson claimed it was one of his most favorite production. So there's a vague connection there.
Source about the collaboration was mentioned in the LWW official movie guide.
"Now we shall take the adventure that Aslan has given to us!"
I picked Andrew to return because I think he really gets the books (minus those things he tweaked in PC, which I gather he probably would have learned by now that some fans didn't appreciate very much and therefore might be less likely to tweak anything in Silver Chair).

I'm all for Alfonso Cuaron. AFAIK, when he tweaks something it's always for the better (HPPOA is the best adaptation IMHO from all HP movies).
You'll come back when they call you
No need to say goodbye
Well, I voted for someone new. I actually think that Apted is an excellent directer. I really love VDT. It's not as good as TLWW, but i like it a little better then Caspian. It's also a harder story to adapt then TLWW was. I blame the script issues on the script writers. The pacing I do blame on him, though it could be a Fox issue. I here that Fox is more hands on with films and prefers shorter films so they can fit in more showings. They might have made him cut the movie down. I would really like to see an extended edition. I still want a new director mainly because of the comments Apted made. He seems to have no faith in the franchise. I don't like that. I can't believe how short many fans memories are on Prince Caspian, though. Major changes were made to Peters personality. To me that change was unforgivable. That's why, even though i loved the first movie, and felt that the second movie was a very well made movie, I don't want Adamson back.
I also voted for someone new. But not necessarily a known director, either. It would be nice if an experienced but relatively unknown director really wanted to do the next Narnia film and came to the studios himself.
Showing a personal interest and care for the books and stories would make a great impression on me if I were in an influential position.
Most great directors have started small and then made the most of their first big opportunity. I would like to see that happen on The Silver Chair.

There is definitely no "a" in definite.
The Mind earns by doing; the Heart earns by trying.
Andrew Adamson has done a much better job than Michael Apted in my opinion and you can tell he really loves the books. Meanwhile, Apted does not seem to be a fan and even said that every good action story has a villian which is why he added the green mist. So I guess he doesn't think VDT is a good story?.... Anyway, I would want a director that has really read the books and appreciates them and I obviously don't know of any other director like that.
I wonder what kind of movie MN would be if Christopher Nolan (my favorite director) did it... Well we already say Lucy be incepted in VDT by Aslan. She even had a dream within a dream.

Andrew Adamson! There is no question. Compared to VDT, the first two are masterpieces. Adamson is always very involved with the script, so I think we may have a better chance of an accurate adaption!

Great suggestion on Peter Jackson. He would be awesome - perfect attention to detail. I am really looking forward to The Hobbit.
The Magician's Nephew is such a great book that I really want to see it made well. Especially the important bits like the creation of Narnia.
I do hope that there is a cameo role for the Pevensie Children and perhaps even Eustace at the start of the new movie. This could easily be done with a sequence where they talk about their Narnia exploits and wonder how the wardrobe came to be magical or something. That would neatly tie in all the movies together so that The Magician's Nephew doesn't stick out like a sore limb on its own.
I would love to see Guilmero del Toro take on Narnia. If you've seen Hellboy or Pan's Labyrinth you know how good he is with creatures. I'd also go for Cuaron because Children of Men is one of my favorite movies.
Andrew Adamson would be good. But I think Ridley Scott is not a bad choice.
MICHAEL BAY CAN DIRECT A NARNIA FILM! Filled with high-speed clips and big explosion.....NOT
Peter Jackson - he did an awesome job with LOTR!
but I am curious: why do ya'll think he'd be good for Narnia if you can't stand them adding action scenes? Peter Jackson adds action scenes even to LOTR! not that I'd mind - I love action! but it seems that a lot of you don't like that in Narnia.
just wondering
