Let's say you were able to order Fox/Walden to do one of three things:
1)Bring Andrew Adamson back for The Silver Chair.
2)Keep Michael Apted for The Silver Chair.
3)Pick someone new. Keep in mind that once you make this choice, the ultimate decision of director lies with Fox/Walden. The only thing that is certain is that it will be neither Adamson nor Apted.
Choose wisely.
Personally I enjoyed Adamson's films far more than The Voyage of the Dawn Treader so I'm going to have to go with him. I'd be too worried that, if they picked someone completley new that they'd do a worse job than Apted.
I didn't really like VotDT's pacing like I liked the others, and I don't want to make the series choppy by always having new directors! So I chose AA.

I selected to choose a new director. Adamson and Apted are both competent directors, and no one can argue they aren't talented, but I would like to see the series in the hands of someone else. Changing directors has worked great for the Harry Potter series, and despite my feelings for the films, has worked for the Twilight series as well. It's always a good thing to bring in new blood, so to speak, to keep the series fresh and interesting.
Someone new would be ideal for me. Each film is different in tone. SC needs a different vision.
I didn't like VDT, so I'm not thrilled on the idea of Apted coming back. From his interviews, it seems he does not have confidence in the books nor the belief that the franchise will continue. As a result, I don't really have confidence in him.
Adamson would be very nice, but like I said, I would prefer someone new.

Definately not Apted. His lack of faith in the series and the continuation of the franchise has not made him very popular with me. Also in my opinion, the film he directed was the worst in the movie series.
I wouldn't mind someone new...I'd just be scared that they would muck it up terribly and make worse plot changes than Dawn Treader. However, if it was someone like Peter Jackson, there's a good chance I'd be very happy.
I LOVE to have Andrew Adamson back! He did such a good job with the first movie, and then Prince Caspian is very good once I got over the changes and carefully ignored the Suspian. Plus I know that he'd create an emotional film, keeping in spirit to the books for the most part (IMHO.)

I'd want someone new. But out of the two existing directors, definatly Adamson. Apted nearly destroyed the series.

I'm not voting because, frankly, it depends on the situation. At the moment I'd prefer Adamson, however if they film HHB or MN simultaneously with SC I really, really, really want Adamson to do both of those movies. I'm willing to let Apted have another go, I think most of the problems in VDT lay with the script, and FOX cutting scenes ( ). However if there is someone new who truly loves the book, and has a vision for it, like Adamson did with the first, then I'd love to see that person do it.
In either case however, FOX needs to mind their own buissness and let the movie have a long runtime!!!

I would definitely choose Andrew Adamson...he did amazing work with the first two. He seem to know what he is doing!

I liked the shorter VDT. PC was WAY too long. WAY.
I would like to see Michael Apted direct a second movie.
And having Andrew Adamson back is just as cool with me.
Other than PC being WAY too long, I have no complaints. That, and Susaspian, but was that really Andrew Adamson's idea?
Aravis Narnia, most movies are longer than two hours ( like 2 1/2) , unless their animated, in which case they are one and a half. Or if they are LotR they are 3.
I personally wish Voyage was as long as the others. At one point I was like 'it's almost over' then the story seemed to have a lot left in it and I was like 'oh never mind it's not over' but then it was over and I was like....

I'd pick someone knew, like Alfonso Cuaron.

I agree w/ the suggestion of Peter Jackson. He did LotR very well and from what I read and saw is very serious about his work.

Hm, I can't really vote, because as Wolfy said, we don't quite know the situation yet. I think both Apted and Adamson would do fine on this movie, but someone else could too. So for now, I'd say that whoever could do the best adaption of SC and yet make it an awesome film should be director!
I voted someone new. While we can't lay all the mess-ups in VDT on Apted, I think some of them at least are his responsibility. And Adamson's work, while better, wasn't all that great with LWW and PC (though I think he did do a wonderful job bringing out the best in each of the actors and actresses! ).
I think a complete (and carefully done) change would be for the best.
Peter Jackson did some wonderful things with LotR, true. But I think he's a little above our budget! I admit - I don't really have a replacement in mind.
Just NOT Tim Burton! I find his fantasy worlds bizarre and disturbing.
