Cool! Can't wait to hear it! Thanks for letting us know!
Long-Anticipated first appearance? I bet it's icarus! Am I right? It must be either icarus or Tirian... I just know it!
I've started to download your podcasts and will be very interested in hearing Warrior, who is a fellow Aussie.
You don't have to wait. Warrior has been on the podcast before, so you can hear him right away. Try the one for the first VDT trailer.

I'm sorry I haven't posted my reactions recently. I plan to get to 68 sometime this weekend.

Oh dear, glumPuddle. I hope you guys can figure it out.
Mean while I guess I should take this as a hint to catch up on my reactions. Due to time constraints I'm skipping over number 67 and going straight to 68. I hope the internet doesn't eat this before I'm done posting, I should really have typed this in word first.
Episode 68: Attack of the spoilers<-awesome title. It is very true, although I think you guys should make an "Attack of the Spoilers: Version 2" since it gotten even worse since then.
Range of reactions:
It is interesting to note all the different ranges of reactions around the forum and amongst the general audience. I believe that since I last looked the poll that Rillian (at least I think that's who mentioned it) mentioned still reflects that people are overall positive about the changes, while sheer agony bumped up to the second spot. I agree with GymFan to that frankly this has been extremely confusing. It's quite odd how all the general stuff points in a positive direction (Like the reactions of screenings reviews, and what some other people outside of the fan base have been saying), but once you get into the details, things start to get iffy (i.e. the seven swords). Overall I'm staying positive about it, but I'm reserving my final judgments until I actually see the movie, and perhaps even 'til I see the DVD special features because it will be interesting to hear what Apted has to say in terms of why he made the changes he did. I found that interesting when I watched PC, because I understood what Adamson was trying to pull off with Peter's character, but I feel as though he didn't succeed in what he was trying to attempt. Rather than showing how it was a hard adjustment for the kids to return to a world that had changed drastically, I think Peter was overdone a bit and he came off as too arrogant. (I honestly don't think Adamson wanted him to come across a jerk, but he was trying to depict the pain that he was feeling; I just wish he did it in a different way) So I think it will be interesting to see why Apted changed what he did, we already got a bit of that with his reasoning behind changing Caspian and Reep's voices- and I'd even venture as far to say as I agree with his reasoning behind it even though I don't really like the changes.
I agree to that most of the negative feedback has been restricted to the forum and to the book fans, which both relieves me and worries me. I'm worried because it makes you wonder how close it's going to get to the book, yet I'm relieved because it means that it looks good to everyone who's seen some decent amounts of footage, and what do those people say, "The magic of Narnia is back." It's a bit odd actually. I wonder sometimes if we're all overreacting to all of this because of the changes made to PC and everything might turn out to be better than we thought, at the same time though there is the very real danger that the fans have picked up on something that the general audience has not. I hope that the changes will help the film work, and yet keep the basic themes of the book intact.
First 10 min of the movie: So far from what I've seen of this part in the trailers and what I've been hearing- this sounds pretty good. I think Ed's "I'm a king" line is different from PC Peter's in that I agree that he sounds more realistic and grounded with it. I feel as though they are trying to accomplish the same idea that they were trying to accomplish in PC about the difficulties adjusting- the difference here is I think they are pulling it off without making Ed seem like a jerk.
I really like how they included Eustace's journal in the movie, and how they at least provide a way of transport for it onto the ship. I hope they will actually use it on the ship because as Gymfan it really helped us get inside of his head and relate to him in the book which is important for them to accomplish in the movie otherwise it will be hard for the audience to relate to him. I think that’s what they are trying to accomplish by bringing the journal on the ship.
Does anyone know how long the Pevensies were at his house in the book? I agree that 253 days seems like a long time, but I still can’t figure out if he’s exaggerating or if it has really been 253 days. I think Susan’s letter will turn out to be an interesting addition. Also I believe that it actually has been confirmed by now that Peter is studying, I’ll have to look for the source, but I’m 99.999% positive that it has.
I also believe that Caspian’s line “I’ll save you Susan,” is meant to depict how much older Lucy seems, and this had better be the only time Suspian/ Lucpian is even referenced in the movie or in any future movies for that matter.
Lucy kidnapped: I have changed my opinion on this issue slightly. It appears as though she has in fact actually been kidnapped, but I agree that I don’t think it was by the dufflepuds. In a way I can see where it might take away from her nobility, but I think it really depends on how the scene is structured. I’m not even sure that we can say that she wasn’t forced to read the spell in the book, there is certainly a lot of pressure on her. I wonder just how they will pull this off. If the dufflepuds carry her away then set her down again, there is still a possibility that she has a chance for escape but doesn’t. I’m definitely reserving my judgment on this scene until I see it.
Reepicheep and Eustace’s relationship: I really like the idea of Reep reviving Eustace and then Eustace waking up all upset. I think it will definitely set the stage for the relationship between these two characters. It doesn’t really bother me that Eustace is caught stealing an orange rather than water- I feel as though the basic point still comes across and I like the idea that they’ll have a duel over it. I don’t think I would mind if they got rid of the lull either, I feel as though it would take away from the plot flow too much, and it will get the focus off of the missing lords (the focus on which is already in question.) I feel as though that in order for that scene to work right in the film it would have to be pulled off absolutely perfectly, not an easy task. Anyway back to Reep and Eustace- I like to that it appears that Reepicheep will also be comforting Dragon Eustace, I feel as though the movie makers are really mastering this relationship, so I shall award them a star for that
Purpose of the voyage/ Dark Island: I agree that the DI subplot isn’t introduced until later, and I truly feel this is significant because it means Caspian did set off for a noble reason, to find the lost lords. I just hope that when it is introduced there will still be at least some focus on them finding the lords. It will be interesting to see just how big and how long the subplot will be, this is another thing I’m reserving my judgment on until I see it. As for the DI subplot itself- –that is all I have to say on the matter. Also I think the WW will just be a dream on the DI which I’m ok with as long as she’s a) not behind the DI b) not behind the serpent and c) not tLotGK
Coriakin’s lines/ theme: I honestly love some of these lines. I like how poetic they are. I know some people think that they will be cheesy, because people aren’t normally that poetic in conversation, but frankly I love being poetic in conversations (Ok so I’m a bit strange ) I especially like them because they are true. “To defeat the darkness out there you must defeat the darkness inside yourself.” I’m sorry, but I think it’s awesome (*holds up shield to block flying fruit*) I do agree though that you really shouldn’t state a major theme of the movie right out, but I don’t think that’s why they included this line and honestly the poeticness does mask the out-rightness of it a bit. Also it was brought up on the forum that the theme of the book is going to be different for different people. Apted might see staying away from temptation, while I see discovery, while others think it might be like searching to find one’s true home. These all ring true in VDT but perhaps what can be considered a major theme depends more on the reader’s interpretation than the story itself.
Ramandu’s Daughter: From watching the trailer I’d have to make 2 points: 1) I don’t think Ed’s feelings about her will amount to much and I think it was done solely for comedy. 2) she says “form” not “forms” I feel as though when she talks about changing form she can only change from star to woman and not to ugly old man. Therefore, I don’t believe the movie makers are trying to imply that she’s a “shape-shifter.”
Aslan’s lines: I really, really, really hope they leave all of his lines at the end intact and even though we haven’t seen anything I hope the lion to lamb scene is still there.
Would you still hope for SC?: Honestly I wouldn’t pick on Bookwyrm too much, and I know you guys aren’t. But I understand his opinion on that and his logic behind it, I just disagree vastly. I feel as though even if they mess up one movie there is always a chance that the next will be better. We can’t know what might happen, we can only wait and see. Honestly I think the idea of a bad adaptation doesn’t bother me as much as the idea that we might lose an excellent adaptation. <- Now to me that would be scary. I’m an optimist though, so it easy for me to be hopeful with such things. I agree with GymFan though, it will be an extremely sad and dark day if I ever stop wanting them to make another movie.
“It just won’t die!”- The leaked script: I loved that quote, Gymfan and honestly I’m glad I never saw that, yet at the same time I can’t help but wonder how bad that thing is.
glumPuddle vs. Puddleglum: Do you guys even know how often I’ve done that already?! I hope I’m not offending you gP, but I mix it up all the time. It would be funny to see how often this is going to happen when/if SC does get made, and it would be hilarious if a movie maker does that.
Over all I just hope the tenth comes quick so that this confusion can be laid to rest, but then again- will it ever truly end? Won’t it just continue with SC and the others? (Oh no here we go again )
Sorry for writing a novel

I was lucky enough to download it before y'all took it down… Nice to hear
Great job as usual!
Last night I was watching the trailer, but for some reason, even with the sound turned up, I couldn't hear that Susan, I'm coming line, though I heard much else. I agree with what Wolfloversk says, as it being a reasonable comment to make now that Lucy is a bit older. Whatever is thought about Susaspian or what other shipping monstrosity the fans dream up, it would still be quite a reasonable thing for Caspian, whilst he was doing his lifesaving act, to be also checking who else had turned up in the wash, as well as Lucy, Edmund and Eustace. Isn't this standard lifesaving procedure?
In the latest podcast, I kept noticing there were breaks in it with no noise. Is this my hearing or were there breaks in the podcast?

As for Bookwyrm's attitude to VDT or SC, whilst it is understandable from his point of view, I think he and quite a number of people are missing a largeish point about copyright, that the movies so far have been filmed before, in some sort of fashion, and so whichever production is made subsequently can't afford to be an exact copy of the BBC adaptations, or even the books, themselves.
The trouble is with SC, is that it, too, will have been filmed beforehand. But I doubt the remaining three books, which have never been filmed, will share the same problems. So even if the confusion and complaining continues with SC it won't necessarily continue with MN, HHB or LB.
It's a bit odd actually. I wonder sometimes if we're all overreacting to all of this because of the changes made to PC and everything might turn out to be better than we thought
After last night's viewing I get a distinct impression that the movie will be more faithful to the book than has been realised. And yes, I agree that many people on Narniaweb are overreacting unnecessarily.
Is it me, or has the entire new podcast been taken off? I checked out the Podcast page and it wasn't there anymore.
they took it down due to technical difficulties, glumPuddle said it might be back up today.
