This thread is for all those people (like me) who wish they could be on the podcasts. Eventually I'll find time to give my own thoughts, but until then, have fun!
I personally was planning to listen to the podcast (Episode 66 as of the post) and write down what I think as I go, but feel free to write as much or as little as you want.
I've already posted my first thoughts on the Podcast page itself --
Here are my thoughts:
The issue of Will’s voice as Eustace sounding odd in some parts and normal in others could be explained when you consider that his voice could be in the process of changing, and the parts where he sounded normal might have been before it began to change, and the other parts were during his voice change.
I agree with Glumpuddle when he said that the Eustace/Edmund conflict could become an important subplot. Especially when you consider that Edmund’s dad is fighting in the war, and Edmund wants to fight in it as well; meanwhile, Eustace, in the book, claimed to be a Pacifist and doesn’t believe in fighting. That could cause some major conflict between them, besides just Eustace’s overall teasing, beastly behavior towards them. (I know that Eustace brought up being a Pacifist because he wanted to avoid being in the fight. But that doesn’t mean he was lying. I believe he really was a Pacifist — especially when you consider how well it fits in with his parent’s progressive ideas and beliefs.)
As for it being Goldwater Island and Dragon Island mixed, I definitely agree that it’s exactly that. But I think there IS a river there. I can see water shimmering down there just before Eustace falls.
Eustace not being afraid of the skeleton didn’t bother me at all. He hasn’t read fairy tales after all, and so he wouldn’t know of all the stories about "skeletons coming to life" and all that. He spends his time reading books of information, which means he would have a more practical, scientific mind. A skeleton, to him, wouldn’t be something scary. It would be a mere part of human anatomy to him. It actually seems more accurate to me.
I was wondering if maybe they changed what the water of the island actually does. Like, instead of it turning everything to gold, it does something else. I’m not quite sure what — maybe turns you on the outside into what you truly are on the inside. That way it would turn Eustace into a dragon — because he had a dragonish heart — and it turned the lord (whichever one he was) into something that killed him… Just a thought.
I have my own theory as to why Gael is there. I think it’s not because she’s female and they wanted more women in the movie, but instead because she’s young. The two Pevensies are all grown up, and the filmmakers think they need someone to be the "Cute kid" to attract more moviegoers. Just like in sitcoms — like the Cosby Show. When Rudy was all grown up, they got Raven Symone to play Olivia so that the show would continue to have a "cute kid".
I like the idea of Eustace being his bratty self longer. Not only is it beneficial to the way the movie plays out, but VDT is the only movie where we get to see that side of Eustace. We’ll see plenty of the new, transformed Eustace in SC and beyond, but VDT is our only chance of seeing him before the transformation. It would have been a shame if the filmmakers hadn’t taken full advantage of it, and I’m glad they are taking advantage of it.
I completely agree that the actual undragoning scene needs to be left in and that it needs to be able to stand on its own. One, of course, for obvious reasons that it was a vital part in the book that needs to be done justice. But also because its the only real Eustace/Aslan moment. He is meeting Jesus Christ in that scene, and it is extremely important for there to be a scene that is Eustace and Aslan only. Or at least where they are the main focus. Otherwise the only time Eustace and Aslan will be together will be at the End of the World, where Aslan is mostly addressing the Pevensies. Hardly a fitting portrayal for a new convert not to have a real moment with his new Savior.
I know what you mean by wishing to be one of the Podcasters! It would be so much fun! I wonder how people are picked for the Podcast?
It's too bad they couldn't all say their opinions of the clips. I had been wondering what Gymfan and Dr. Elwin Ransom and Warrior4Jesus thought of them too. I love it when they're altogether on there.

(It's still Talk Like A Pirate Day , so be forewarned) Shiver me timbers, that last podcast was a great one, although them landlubbers did not tell any yarn that hadn't already been yarned about here on the good ship Narniaweb Forum. I for one would feel more nervous doing a podcast by meself than if I faced the Flying Dutchman herself. With a seamate, I'd have half a dubloons worth of a chance.
Seeking comic book artist, PM for details.
I haven't listen to one of these in quite awhile and since you mentioned them i listened to the last one and you guys quoted me. Crazy.
I think they are not going to show Eustace change into a dragon. They might keep it from the audience that he is the dragon, so that we think he was eaten and that the dragon is really attacking the ship. I think it may be only later that they realize the dragon is Eustace.
The only problem i have with my own theory that this is a riverbed with the gold objects in it is that it looks like the objects are things that would be gold already and not regular objects that have been turned into gold.

*Is amazed that she understood that. (Refering to the pirate talk)
I just finished listening to it, lets see if I remember anything.
Clip 1: I found the "orphans" line as a bit odd, but I think Eustace is simply using it as a metaphor, I can not see them killing off the parents. It would be completely pointless, they already have a logical reason for the Lucy and Ed to be at Eustaces house, so there is no reason to do that, plus it may cause problems come time for LB (so long as me make it there- I remain optomistic that we will. I also thought the way they brought the journal on the ship was neat. I hope this means they'll incorporate it later.
Clip 2: I'm suprised they didn't give more mention of the "Dark Thingy." At first upon watching the clip, I was to busy pondering the skeloton- I'll get to that in a sec- That I didn't notice it until I looked on the thread. I for one simply do not believe it is smoke- its to black and to flat. I can see it being the shadow of a dragon, playing the clip you only notice its snout, but if you pause it and drag it frame by frame, I believe that what appears to be a tail is also evident. It's a very quick shot- I think its only in one frame. As for the skeloton, so far that's the one thing that upsets me, because I'm one of those who assummed that he became the old dragon, but I guess if it is one of the lords it can make sense. Apparently the MLG is also going to be a bigger influence than originally anticipated- Frankly I'm perfectly fine with them adding characters (The fox and the griffon in LWW were excellent) just as long as it makes sense in the storyline. If they do combine Dragon Islan and DeathWater, or Deathwater with any other island, that may explain why its called Goldwater on Naria.com
Clip 3: I think any fakeness has mostly to do with unfinished editing- from what we've seen of Aslan and Reep so far there is clearly different stages with those shots alone- some are perfect, and others clearly nead work, so I think that they just haven't finished puting the final touches on the cgi yet. Also I'm more concerned that they get Aslan and Reepicheep to look right, then I feel that if they've perfected them they can work on the backdrops. I'm also happy with Eustaces little reflection about being a dragon. And using his clothes as a scale of when he he became a dragon was a good idea, we'll have to pay more attention to that.

"Be cunning, and full of tricks, and your people will never be destroyed." -Richard Adams, Watership Down
I got quoted, too!
Glumpuddle might be starting to convince me that the orphan line doesn't mean anything. I still think it's a really strange word choice, though.
The whole skeleton and pile of gold still confuse me, though. With either of the lords' deaths, there shouldn't be a skeleton, at least not one with clothes and an armring on still. And like decarus said, the gold objects are wrong for this to be the location for Deathwater. (It would be cool to see a bunch of golden rocks and fish if the river was dried up. )
Of course, having things spread out like that doesn't really make sense for a dragon hoard, either. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

I agree that everything being spread out doesn't look like a dragon horde which was why my initial impression was that it was a river bed that had been dried up. We need to see more. Maybe see the objects up close.

I could never be on the podcast, lol. If glumPuddle and Rilian are reading this, the movie Island Order is on Narnia.com. Eustace is "dragoned" after they've been to Narrowhaven, and the Magician's Island.

Oh goody, there's a new podcast. Haven't got a chance to listen to it yet, something's messed up with my mp3 player. Comments?
Agreeing with glumpuddle and rillian about "still pulling my hair" about Anna Popplewell's "teeny, tiny, bit" video. That's all I'm up to so far. Kudos to Rillian and glumPuddle for such a fantastic job on the podcasts!
I saw the movie....and was disappointed
A new podcast! Finally! (I never can wait for the next one)
Yikes, now they have me depressed.
I love these podcasts! I hope another one discussing the new trailer will be out soon!

They finished recording the next podcast a few hours ago. Since the news has been pretty dead for the past couple weeks, Rilian decided it would be interesting to have an 2-hour in-depth discussion on Father Christmas' line "battles are ugly when women fight."
Joking of course.
This time, Rilian is joined by GymFan, Warrior....and a very special NarniaWebber making a long-anticipated first appearance.
Should be online within a few days.
Interesting.... . I have to be involved in podcasting, such as learning how to do it, for work related reasons and learning at home as a hobby would be much more fun. Though, considering that I consistently disagree with glumPuddle for all sorts of reasons connected with the Narnia films, I wonder if I would be able to participate. I've started to download your podcasts and will be very interested in hearing Warrior, who is a fellow Aussie.
