I sure hope that They don't turn VOTD into a Dispute between Ed and Caspian! They would be pretty terrible! Well I don't think they will because of the new director but still Its a worry :-s ........................ What do you all think?

I don't think they would reuse the whole dispute thing again, I think it would feel used if they did it again.
The only place in the movie were I could see a dispute is at Deathwater and since that's in the book I would actually be ok with it. But nothing else, no way! definitely no more disputes. ;)

ugh, I certainly hope they won't have Caspian and Edmund fight.....

the only place where that kind of thing would work would be at Deathwater Island when they are fighting over the gold and who is to claim ownership over that Island.....
other than that, I am hoping that there are no fights between them!

This is a clear indication why they shouldn't have had Peter and Caspian argue / fight in PC. 8-| Ed and Caspian are supposed to argue a little / have disputes in VDT. They are disagree over the gold at Deathwater and then again when Caspian wants to go on to the end of the world. I'm afraid the whole Peter / Caspian thing will ruin those scene (either make them seem like déjà vu or cause the filmmakers to leave them out). :p

^^ if they left out Caspian and Edmud's fight at Deathwater Island, how will they do that scene? the whole point is their greed over the gold.....

For a few scenes, like Deathwater and the end of the world (i.e., the ones specified in the book), I don't think that it will be too bad. As long as Edmund and Caspian aren't arguing throughout the entire movie, it probably won't be too reminiscent of PC (I hope).

I really don't want this to happen at all.. Prince Caspian was horrible with Peter, but with Edmund it would be a million times worse. I guess it does happen in the book in a couple of spots, but I have a feeling that it'll be more than that if it happens at all. The fact that that would be repetitive is reassuring me. :p

I do kinda want them to argue a little but it would be wierd b/c of Peter and Caspian in PC...

I just don't want it to be a cliche.....if they fight the way Peter and Caspian did in PC, then it will be redundant and unneccecary!
but I don't think that they are doing that in VotDT!

In VDT, quarreling only happens twice (that I remember); at Deathwater Island and at the end of the world. Both scenes carry powerful lessons.
At Deathwater, the kings are overcome with greed, and their unrestrained avarice leads them to lose sight of all other important things. This is a key message, and very important in our materialistic society.
The quarrel at the end of the world is not a power-struggle so much as Ed helping Caspian, his close friend, realize that he is being foolish. I think that particular confrontation strengthens Edmund's character, showing that he is both wise and bold enough to confront others when they are making mistakes. If that scene is cut, an essential part of who Edmund is will never be shown.
I really disliked the disputes between Peter and Caspian in PC; even after three years, that's the only part of the movie that I haven't been able to cope with. If that mistake costs us these two powerful scenes in VDT, I'll be very disheartened, to say the least.
