Here's the explanation for the shadow (based on the clip I saw last weekend):
The scene begins with the Pevensies, Caspian, Eustace, and Reep walking towards the wall of water. The camera pans down and it shows their shadows on the sand. Their shadows "walk" off camera...and then a second later, Aslan's shadow enters the frame. A couple seconds later, Eustace notices Aslan and turns.
I thought it was well done. A very subtle, seamless entrance into the scene for Aslan.
Oh, and Harry Gregson-Williams' music was used for the entire clip I saw. I don't think it was the exact same recording; just the same themes.
Just showed my two young nephews the trailer and they are THRILLED!
(And my older nephew, who has seen the other trailers, thinks this one is better by far! )
"Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you!"
- Dr. Seuss
I think my biggest problem with Aslan is that i think he looked good in LWW and i think that they should have made him seem the same as he did in LWW. I think it is important to keep the character looking consistent. I don't think they have done that. That is my only problem with the special effects.
I totally agree that it makes me crazy when people talk about the special effects being terrible because i also remember Star Wars or the Princess Bride. I love the Princess Bride. And Star Wars for that matter.
It is about the stories. The characters and that is where they have the biggest weakness.
There are no clouds in the sky. There is only the open sun and the Lord watches.
I agree that the story is more important than the special effects, but that doesn't mean we should accept mediocre effects or anything. I would rather have a good story than good effects, but it would be very nice to have both.
I think that LWW Aslan is my favorite Aslan so far.

Keeper of the Secret Magic
Now that has to be the greatest trailer I've layed eyes on lately!
Dragon Eustace keeps looking better and better each time I see him! Wow!
"Enemies will unite." What's that supposed to mean? Hopefully nothing!
When I saw the shot with Edmund, Susan, and Peter, I felt really weirded out. I know what the scene's for, but it felt really out of place in the trailer.
The visuals are fantastic! When I compared it to the first three trailers, they looked very unfinished. Now, my eyes widen every time I see the shots! Very cool!
Overall, I'm even more excited for the movie, and after reading all the reviews, I'm positive that the themes will be somewhere in the movie! I'm feeling optimistic with everything we're seeing, but my sanity level isn't doing so well...

That has to be the most misleading thing about the trailer. Not only is it making it seem like the White Witch is the main villian in the movie, but that she's also teaming up with other bad guys in the movie and that the crew will have to battle a whole group of enemies.
Winter Is Coming
They didn't even need a narrator for this trailer. It would have been much better without him.
I just ignored the narrator. I am sure he what he is saying is misleading.

Besides, we no all narrators are liars anyway.
Check out "The Magician's Nephew" and "The Last Battle" trailers I created!

Awesome trailer! Like the rest of you said, the effects are amazing, especially the parting of the water shot!
If I have any criticism, it is about the flow. Because they go from Aslan's country first and then cycle through the rest of the Islands in a weird order, it gave me the impression that Dawn Treader was sailing in circles instead of a strait line. I really hope that is not the way it is in the movie. A part that I love about VDT is how they are constantly sailing STRAIGHT into lesser known and more mysterious seas -- all the more closer to Aslans country -- giving the book a sense of travailing further and further into the unknown. If they just end up sailing in a circle around the darkness, that will be really silly.

One thing I didnt like about the narrator, is that he was pretty much saying what Corikan was saying just with differnt word use. Corikan was already narrating, so we didnt need another narrator.
Winter Is Coming
I was rather surprised by all the excitement at the beginning of this thread because I didn't think the trailer was that great (That could have something to do with my viewing it late at night after a long day). I was wondering what I had missed. Then I found some less excited posts and felt better (meaning I didn't feel like I'd missed something).
First the positives:
I really like Reepicheep's lines. They seem to really have nailed his character. I love the line about belief.
The settings and the ship sailing are gorgeous.
Susan looks perfect in that scene. (I'd rather that scene not be there at all but she looks right)
The negatives: Enemies will unite (and most of the narration), the witch, dragonEustace looks wounded, the "no" scene, the Susan, Edmund, and Peter scene, Lucy's wondering if there really is an Aslan's Country, RD's form changing
The confusing:
DI is rather close to RI. if this darkness steals light, how in the world does RD manage to stay lit?
I don't see any shadow for Aslan that looks like a man. One shadow doesn't look right. The legs look kind of lamb or goatish. Isn't that scene at the end of the world? (Some people were saying it was with the undragoning of Eustace and I'm confused. It happens with the wave or at least it looked that way to me.
The special effects seemed fine to me, but since I prefer DragonEustace in the BBC's version to what I've seen so far of the Walden one, I'm probably not the best judge.

Did anyone else notice that they cut parts of the first scene... Look at where Caspian stands in relation to the others...
"The mountains are calling and I must go, and I will work on while I can, studying incessantly." -John Muir
"Be cunning, and full of tricks, and your people will never be destroyed." -Richard Adams, Watership Down
Why are people angry that Eustace looks wounded? Thats the idea isnt it? For Aslan to heal and save him when he is defeated.
Winter Is Coming
^^^ yeah I really liked wounded DragonEustace.
I saw the movie....and was disappointed
If Eustace earns his undragoning. Epic fail.
