Having only seen it once I am no an authority on it but I really like the breathtaking visuals they have. But the trailer itself isn't as good as the 3rd one and feels really choppy and disjointed.
Once I watch it a few more times I will come back with my full thoughts.
Part 3 of my analysis.
Well, I actually found that I could stomach a video made by a guy who wears a paper bag over his head
Keep making them
So the trailer played in front of Deathly Hallows Part 1 and it looked a lot better on the big screen for me. Aslan looked so much better then in PC so i am hopeful on that front. The theater was packed and there was a good response to that trailer so hopefully people will see the film.
There are no clouds in the sky. There is only the open sun and the Lord watches.
I've just come back from Deathly Hallows part 1, and I can confirm Decarus' remarks above. We went too early, but since it was the first session of the day we didn't get caught in a long queue which we were anticipating. In the half-hour before the movie started there were advertisements for local learning establishments, such as the one for the local Catholic boys' high school, as well as computer games, Mastercard and the refreshments kiosk downstairs.
Just to show how catholic the tastes the trailers catered for, there was a Columbia films trailer for a 2011 film with two men, machinery, and weapons which went on for a bit. They seem to be spending as much time fighting each other as whatever enemy they were combining against, and they didn't have the excuse of an evil horcrux affecting their view of the world, unlike Ron and Harry. Then there was the equally horrible Paramount Robot/android technodrama which I definitely won't see. In 2D the trailer was bad enough to make me wince. A murder mystery about five people in a lift sounds just perfect for those claustrophobic adults I might happen to know, if I wanted to lose their friendship. And I'm not mentioning whatever cutesy cartoonish robotic thingy was in the pipeline, which might have appealed to the many children in the audience.
Then Walt Disney chimed in with the much-hyped Tron Legacy, a fantasy involving laptops sucking up people. Just as I thought that the upcoming VDT had been forgotten altogether, in came the VDT trailer, just before HP started. Well to tell you the truth, despite our minute analyses of this trailer on this site, I was so relieved to be rid of the in-your-face death and destruction in the previous trailers, that I greeted this trailer with absolute joy. I was so happy to see something that absolutely had no flashy techno robots in it, or computers taking over the world, and having some old fashioned soul to it as well, that I could have forgiven VDT just about anything. I mean it, too. I'm not into cutesy cartoon robots having nice little adventures with each other either.
About all trailers do is show enough of the highlights to indicate which genre of movie it is. And when it is death, destruction and in-your-face special effects they tend to emphasize those bits. I'm in a quandary, because I liked the VDT trailer so much for looking nice, sane and enjoyable that I didn't worry about the things people were fretting about. And whether or not those other films and their trailers are true to their original books, I do not know or care. I just don't like robots, machines, flashy iron man heroes, gratuitous domestic violence or prying into other people's private lives, plus adult themes of death and devastation.
Before HP and the DH - P1, my friends and I saw the trailers to Tron Legacy (okay), Yogi Bear (ick) and VDT (yay!). Why is it cinemas are still using the old trailer? It's not very good. They really should be using the latest one.

Yes, you are right though the one I saw wasn't too bad. I expect the 4th trailer is being saved for television. For myself, I am wondering why I can't buy advance VDT tickets, why the cinema staff don't seem to know what I am talking about when I ask, despite the VDT posters dotted about, and why it is only mention of Tron Legacy or Harry Potter which seems to put a bit of life and recognition in the eyes of the cinema staff. Laptops are no doubt the best things since sliced bread. But I go to the movies to relax from workaday things, not to get caught up into a laptop nightmare. And VDT is coming out in a fortnight - allegedly.
Wait I thought they did use the fourth trailer?
My freind saw it, she claimed it was "a bit breif."

They better have shown trailer 4 before Harry Potter. Otherwise, I really think we can forget fans of HP to see the movie. Cause the teaser trailer is horrible.

I have also heard from several places that the 4th trailer is used, were we misinformed
It's not the teaser but the third trailer that they use before HP:DH

Okay, I'm confused. Which one is trailer 3, and which is trailer 4? Can you post a link of the one that is being shown in front of HP?
Check out "The Magician's Nephew" and "The Last Battle" trailers I created!

Why would you even post this? Bashing Catholics is completely irrelevant to the topic at hand.
