Wow I actually agree with decarus! They really shouldn't accept both. Those non-readers think they're smarter then the actual readers joking.

Jill+Tirian! Let there be Jilrian!
Both answers are right. Besides, if they picked one answer over the other, this thread would probably be full of people complaining about the order they picked.
I think it would be unfair if they didn't accept both answers. I mean, some people grew up with the chronological, and others the original publication order!
"I'm a beast I am, and a Badger what's more. We don't change. We hold on. I say great good will come of it... And we beasts remember, even if Dwarfs forget, that Narnia was never right except when a son of Adam was King." -Trufflehunter
Yeah, I'd never even heard of an order besides chronological until I joined NarniaWeb 4 years ago.
And some people like me never read them in either order. I skipped around, but I agree it wouldn't be fair if they accepted one and not the other.

"Be cunning, and full of tricks, and your people will never be destroyed." -Richard Adams, Watership Down
I used to own an edition that was in the original publication order.
I am in the minority in this one. I first read the books in 1990 before HC changed it's order. I remember thinking the books were rather confusing and thinking 'these books are numbered wrong'.

I'm glad they accept "third." Always good to find more members of the 2456317 club.

Rilian, It took me a while to understand what 2456317 meant
I prefer chronological, but only slightly. I have a great respect for both. Actually next time I read them, maybe I'll actually read them in at least on of the orders, since I've yet to read them in either (I might have in chronological, but I can't remember. Just incase I'll try the publication order next time.)

I didn't read them in either order, I'm not sure if I read LB or VDT last. I know I got VDT last, but I had borrowed it from the library before. There are strong cases for both orders.
Seeking comic book artist, PM for details.
Personally, I like to read them in the order in which the writting was started.
Ancientdogma, I agree. That way you're reading it more from Lewis's point of view.
I saw the movie....and was disappointed
