Looks like it's probably legitimate, but putting the White Witch on there instead of Caspian?
Hm, I love its look, but just as Minotaur said, Caspian should be there, and NOT the witch . It's a start for a good DVD cover, though...
I loved the Brazilian cover art, I believe it was 220Christian (hope I got the name right) that posted a link of it on Narniaweb's preorder story on home page. I'd like that cover art. Caspian needs to be in and Witch out, that one was as such.
I saw this cover art yesterday. I'm not impressed. Caspian isn't on it even though he's the other major character besides the children. Reepicheep is still irritating being put right next to the logo. I can be thankful that he's not actually standing on top of it like in all the other advertisements but it still looks silly.
The cover "art" isn't surprising though. It's constructed to sell the movie which is to be expected. Fox/Walden's assumption may be that having Caspian on the cover will reflect the last movie which they'd like to avoid. That's why the White Witch is on it, to reflect LWW. And Reepicheep is slapped on there for cuteness factor and supposed fan popularity.
I guess what's bothered me about VDT's advertisements, posters, and so on, is that they're too obviously calculated and constructed only to sell a product. They have no artistic quality to them in themselves. The look of the 2-disc DVD of LWW was a lot more simple and sharp and just nicer to look at.
But I understand my views on cover art and presentation are nitpicks and not to be too concerned with. I'm just grateful VDT seems to be getting a hefty 2-disc DVD release, something that's becoming more rare due to the Blu-ray take over.
Mary Jane: You know, you're taller than you look.
Peter: I hunch.
Mary Jane: Don't.
The cover art reminds me too much of the cover art on some Disney DVDs. Especially that dark blue center diamond with the movie title on it. I hope that isn't the final cover. And I'd prefer them leaving the White Witch off of it.

Hmm, I'd agree that is does look a lot like a Disney cover. And so wonderful to see that the deceptive advertising is continuing with the WW on the cover of this as well. I wonder how low they'll sink with SC? Putting old footage into the trailers even though she's not even in the film at all?
Poor Ben. His first major feature film was something many people considered a flop, and now he was excluded from the DVD cover of a movie where he's one of the main characters because they possibly fear he's a box office jinx.

No need to say goodbye
I seem to agree with the general opinion.
The Cover art was a good start....but it clearly went wrong.
The white which had a whole 90 seconds of screen time....why the crap is she taking up so much of the DVD cover?
If I were to make my own DVD cover I would keep the color scheem (I actually like what they did with that), Leave Aslan as the top center Replace the white Which with a large image of eustace (since he will be in the next movie) and have Edmund Lucy and Caspian on the right side of the DVD.....and I wouldn't mind if they had dragon Eustace flying in the background, but just small as to not clutter the DVD.
I am just going to print a picture of Caspian and put it next to Aslan's face!
well, I like the White Witch being there in a way because of the picture of Edmund - Edmund's picture is of him in the scene where he encounters the White Witch. so I like how the picture came out that way. and I like the way Edmund's sword points up where it is! it looks cool! and the purple theme is epic!

The cover art captures the look of the movie. It looks very Disney pricessy.
And the White Witch and Aslan are prominently featured, even though they have very minor roles.
I'm not sure what I will do when this movie comes out. If I buy it, it will probably a used copy on eBay. And then I'll hide it in my closet. I don't want it bringing shame to my collection.
An audio commentary would be boring. I think the majority of Michael Apted's decisions were driven by getting the movie made as quickly and cheaply as possible.
love the color scheme, and everything but the White Witch!
i REALLY wish Caspian was on it too!
Those two problems kind of ruin the cover for me... I love everything else though.

I realize I'm going against the flow here, but - horrible WW-and-no-Caspian issue aside, I really like this cover art. The colors, layout, and the nice new image of Lucy (so much better then the one they've been using!) are all quite good.
The deceptive advertising is positively nauseating.

so far it's the best I have seen of the VoDT cover art I've seen so far....but where is Caspian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and why oh why is the white whitch there, I'm so sick of seeing her, she's beginning to drive me a bit nuts. I don't really like Reepicheep either. But the colors are really nice and the layout is good too (at least I think so )
