I happened to look at Narnia comparisons, today. Much as I'd love to see Movie Aristotle give us the benefit of his brilliant analyses, I thought VDT looked good. It has just over $8 million dollars to make up in foreign takings before it equals PC. Those foreign takings were $278,029,923. Until I took a second look tonight, the foreign takings for VDT were something like $270,400,000. Currently VDT's foreign takings are said to be $269,800,000 on BOM.

Unless VDT just completely tanks in Japan, looks like we may hit $400 million.

If it reaches $400 then I will be thrilled. Anything ontop of that would be considered extra by me. Now if it reached PC's total then I would be REALLY happy. Its not impossible but I think its highly unlikely to go that far. Oh well. Like I said, $400 would be great in and of itself!

I'm Chinese and I know very little of Japanese, Georgie and Ben are indeed listed along with the Japanese actors who voiced the movie to appear in the greeting before the movie started.

VDT did reach $102 million yesterday. It finally came to our local discount theater near work today. So I went after work and there were 105-110 people at the 7:10 pm showing. That's definitely more than any showing I went to during the holidays.

PC made just over $2.5 million from week 9 to 16, the end of its run. Since VDT has continued to do better than PC since week 3, I expect it to beat that total as well.

Should be interesting to see what the worldwide totals actually are when VDT finally opens in Japan and Venezuela.

Given that VDT has been doing somewhat better than PC in the south american countries, I anticipate 3.5 million out of venezuela when all is said and done. As for Japan, I don't know. In the overwhelming majority of east asian countries, VDT has done much better than PC, but Taiwan is another story. In Taiwan, VDT hasn't done half PC's business. This is particulary concerning, because of all countries, Taiwan is the most culturally similar to Japan. I wish I knew what influenced VDT's poor performance there.

How was the marketing in Taiwan? If it was better done in Japan, then it might do better there...I hope!
