Something else certainly is at play. I suppose, like here, price rises are in line with children going back to school. That way the theatres can look innocent and say that whilst holidays were on, they were allowing for cheaper family prices. Last time I went to see VDT I got in on the $16 concession for seniors. Do they offer such concessions in USA?

Tangled has arrived in Australia, there is now only one session of VDT (3D only) available per day at my local theatre. This is the final week for screening VDT, which therefore won't make it through the school holidays to 26th January (Australia Day). Deathly Hallows, which normally would have finished a week ago, has continued on for another few weeks. Megamind is also in its last two weeks, yielding place to Tangled.

So Narnia fell another 28% on Wednesday to $564,125, for a cume of $89,372,797.

At the beginning of the week I was hoping that VDT would reach $90m by Thursday, and then another $5m over the weekend to hit $95m.

With Wednesday's total now coming down to just over half a million, I'm having to revise my prediction to $93-$94m by the end of this weekend.

I wish it would it $90 already! I hate this $89 business.... :p
Hmm well ticket prices are the same at my theatre. But if there is an increase in price in other places, that might affect the boxoffice numbers.

I want it to reach 93M ASAP. Why 93M? Because that is a 60% revenue. As in the bare minimum to NOT be considered a flop domestically.

So International numbers look good... but we need Narnia to hit $100 in USA... Im sure its going to happen, but why doesnt Narnia Web, Narnia Fans and thier facebook page with over 1.5million viewers... get together and start a 'NARNIA FANS, NARNIA DAY' or something like it... (the title needs work) and pick a weekend, not this coming weekend but the next one, and really hammer the sites encouraging Narnia fans all over the world to get together and see Narnia once more all on the same weekend, and watch those numbers soar! I mean if even half the people that read these sites, (especially the facebook page [over 1.5million ppl]) took a group of family and friends to see narnia on 'NARNIA FANS, NARNIA DAY' (again the title needs work, haha) we would guaranteed see a large increase in profits, and to do that in a 5th weekend would be an impressive thing! Im positive that if these sites spent a week encouraging, and reminding fans all over to take a group to see VODT once again on its 5th weekend showing, we will hit over to 100mill mark domestically, and even rival PC numbers Worldwide... so is there a place to pitch this idea to someone who can get the ball rolling, this may be a stupid idea, but dont think it is, and i know heaps of ppl that say they would do it to be a part of a WORLDWIDE NARNIA DAY/WEEKEND.

Also $89,372,797 domestic
$213,334,774 foreign
=$302,707,571 Worldwide...

Things are really slowing down for dawn treader now, so i hope my idea will promt someone to get behind it and give it a go, It is a guarantee that the numbers will increase! (because i know atleast myself and a few others will get behind it :)) NARNIA FANS, NARNIA DAY

Well, i would do it. I'm not sure how to get it going, though. I do think it is a good idea. I'm taking my whole family, there are 5 of us to see it this weekend. It will be rougher next weekend, though, because it will pry lose some theaters if it doesn't this weekend. I would also encourage anyone who has not seen it, maybe do to changes from the book etc. to see it for the sake of the series.

Narnia fans, Narnia day would never work, sorry. The numbers aren't that big...you're assuming that those 1.5 million views that have been accumulated in the past will be duplicated in less than two weeks.

It'll definitely be there after this weekend. :)

Well Im sure it would work, im not suggesting that everyone would go and see it and numbers would skyrocket, im just suggesting that there would definately be people who would do it, even if they hadnt planned to see it that weekend, just so they could say they were a part of it! There is no denying it would work (as far as adding even a little profit), because i already know a group of people, (fellow narnia fans) who are going to take thier fam's and friends who want to, to see it again next weekend, so there is already aprox 25people who will be adding figures on that weekend, which they wouldnt have otherwise, just because i suggested the idea, and thats just one small person getting a couple of friends together!... And it definately cant do any harm to the takings! Either way, ill be going ahead with the idea, promoting on facebook, etc. and i know a group of mates that are gonna get behind it, so i encourage anyone who reads this post to do the same... :)

Every little bit helps is the way I see it. Nice to see your enthusiasm and efforts, LoveNarniaLive4God. I hope that VDT does well this weekend as the theater drop was small here in the USA as was pointed out previously. :)

I don't know how other theaters are, but in my local theater Tangled is the oldest movie being screened, followed by VDT, so I'm assuming that VDT won't be axed until at least Tangled is removed a week before.

Early Thursday # points it at 557,996 Not really a drop nor a gain making it short of 70k to hit 90m. *sigh* well here's to the weekend making it over 90m and few million closer to 100m.

They dropped VDT completely from my local theatre and the other theatres neighboring have reduced showtimes to the early morning and late afternoon. I'm discouraged by this. :( The 3D version still has enough screens at one theatre though, though I can't decide if I want to see it badly enough for a 4th time in 3D format... :(

The Box Office Derby on BoxOfficeMojo.com predicts that VDT will make $5.9 million this weekend. That would be an excellent drop...I hope they're close.
