Yeah, I really think they could get away making The Silver Chair with a 80-100 million dollar budget. There's a lot less FX in that film.

Perhaps the smaller the budget, the more faithful they will be to the source material? Who knows! Maybe smaller box office earnings would end up giving us a better movie next time! Sometimes things that can seem bad at the time end up working out for the better. :)

I hope your right.

So I was watching the weather channel. It's looking like this whole weekend especially in the Midwest, is going to have allot of snow. Some states are even going to have blizzards. Here in New York it's very very cold. This can't be good for us. Narnia needs to have a good weekend because it's going to loose allot of it's 3D screens to Yogi and Tron next weekend. The remainder of screens it will lose the weekend after that. Also in Europe they are having some really, really bad snow. England has been hit pretty bad, as well as France and Germany. So this could be why some numbers may be low.

Looking at bom forums and number of them saying this is the last movie and it won't break 200m domestic. Last time i go to that site. Meh what do they know rather or not there will be any more narnia movies. Just cause fox may decide its not worth it doesn't mean there isn't a studio out there that would like to continue the movies.

Only thing I'm concern is what Walden Media decides.

RT @CarmeloJrBacino Narnia triumphs in Spain. 3 million euros in first weekend! is the top of the box office. @NarniaFans @AslansCountry @NarniaWeb

In other news, BoxOfficeMojo has FINALLY updated their page.

Question for people in Australia, did you only get the 3D version last weekend?

I'm been praying that it does well opening weekend and will do it again tonight tomorrow and what not so we can continue to see more movies.

I'm wondering if Walden media is hoping DT would do similar or better as PC did in theaters cause they were quite happy with the amount PC made.

Domestic: $141,621,490 Foreign: $278,029,923 is what PC made in theaters.

Although less than the previous two installments, $45 should be good enough to carry it through the holidays. Let's just hope it opens with that, or more! :)

Yes, as long as it opens to more than $40 million, I think it is safe to say we'll see The Silver Chair.

Check out "The Magician's Nephew" and "The Last Battle" trailers I created!

Not exactly. No studio greenlights the next film in an iffy franchise based on the opening weekend. If anything, Fox/Walden will look at the first three weeks to see if VDT has "legs."

If VDT opens at $40M in the US and drops as fast as PC, then...well, don't hold your breath for the next film.

Honestly at this point i don't care how great it does as long as we hear SC green light from Fox.

I just saw the movie and was very sad to see that just over half the theatre was full. At the same time, there were two theatres running the movie and my local cinema. I don't know how full the other one was. I hope it was full!

I am dying for this weekend to be over so we can have some numbers!
