Narnia loses only 205 this weekend. It's hard for a movie to go three weekends without losing anything. Fox did well in keeping this in theaters for Christmas, this is a very good hold in theater counts.

I found that extremely impressive!

Didn't "Meet The Little Fockers" come out today? I wonder how that will affect VDT's box office. It is estimated to have about a 65 million five day weekend, although it has pretty horrible reviews so word of mouth may cause it to make less than that.
Is it aimed at VDT's target demographic? I saw a trailer for Fockers, but I couldn't tell who they were trying to appeal to.
Also, I just found this very cool page for domestic numbers on BOM that compares LWW to PC to VDT to GC to Eragon. It makes all the stat gathering I've been doing a little redundant. xD
MinotaurforAslan, I probably should've told you about that page. That's been there since VDT's first weekend.
Even though you were talking from your own, I thought you had been using that as a reference for some reason. haha.
Fockers is not aimed at Narnia's demographic. It is a realistic comedy aimed at adults.
I went to the movies last Xmas and will go this one as well. Last one I watched The Chipmunks-The Squeakquel. This one I will watch Narnia again.
To say that Gulliver looks horrible is an understatement. Some scenes just totally grossed me out. And Gulliver's Travels is a book I really enjoyed reading. So the movie disappoints me very much and I will not go watch it.
Well, MTLF opened to somewhere around 7 million, so at best it will make 45 million in its first five days. Most were expecting it to do better, so this is good for Narnia.

Narnia is NOT doing well in the states. Both LWW and PC made more than VotDT on their opening weekends.
Winter Is Coming
Josh, we got past that fact like 10 days ago.
Considering how poorly it opened, it is doing pretty well. Obviously overall it is still a huge disappointment, but that shouldn't keep us from cheering over its little victories along the way.

I know that! I was referring to now, where people are still saying, oh no, it must be the weather, while VDT is having better holds than any of the other 4 fantasy films I keep comparing it to.

Yeah, I hadn't been using it. I kept going to each individual movie page on BOM. It was kind of a pain. And then I suddenly realized that BOM already has a page comparing the exact same films that I was side by side!
Wednesday numbers are in from Deadline... $2.5M, Cume $50.1M
-will wait until exact figures are posted for bigger analysis-
How is Tron doing? It opened at number 1 right? I heard it didn't do as well as expected though (like VDT.)
Oh and I'm really sorry if this has been posted already, but I'm having a heard time understanding all the numbers. How much has VDT made in total so far?

Tron's doing great in the US, but horrible worldwide. So it has the opposite problem of VotDT.
Winter Is Coming
Valiant, according to Box Office Mojo, through Wednesday, VDT has made $50,153,571 in the United States and $128,967,004 in international markets, for a current grand total of $179,120,575.

Actually Tron isn't doing that great in the US either. It has a 180 million dollar budget and it probably won't even make that much domestically. Typical a film should make at least its' budget and a half from the domestic grosses alone.

Well, I don't think that's true. that would mean VDT was expecting to earn 225 million domestically. Since the overseas gross is about 2-3 times as big, it should make 800-900 million total. that's almost as much as the Dark Knight made, which is one of the highest grossing movies of all time. LWW was considered a financial success and made only 745 milllion, with a budget of 180 million. according to your theory, i should have made 900 million-1 billion.
Actually, I'm getting tired of doing a big analysis every day.
Small analysis:
VDT made $2,516,171 on Wednesday. This is a -5.4% from yesterday, and a +78% from last week. That's an excellent week to week increase.
Eragon's numbers are not a good comparison.
Golden Compass increased +4.6% from it's yesterday (better than VDT), but it's week to week drop was -36%, much worse than VDT. So VDT's still whomping GC.
Prince Caspian's numbers are not a good comparison either, as PC was released in the summer and spiraling downward at this point.
LWW had a slightly better day to day hold of +0.5%, but its week to week hold of +40.9% is still inferior to VDT, so VDT is continuing to keep slightly ahead of the pace of the LWW drops.
I'm agreeing with FriendofNarnia's rough estimate that VDT will earn about $115 million over all.
