I hope no one was planning to go to Toy Story 3 just to see the Dawn Treader trailer, because THEY DIDN'T SHOW IT, at least not in my theatre! This is mildly frustrating, and it's a little embarrassing, since there were several sources that recently reported that a trailer would be in front of the movie.
Now that I've got THAT out of my system, I can say that Toy Story 3 was a great film in and of itself; I probably would have enjoyed it even more if there weren't so many people in our row getting up to refill their popcorn and take their screaming children out of the room. Ha!

Hmmm. When I went to see Prince Caspian in theaters, I saw it in two different theater chains, and different previews were shown in front of each. (Not that I really cared, because I didn't go there for the trailers.)
Perhaps the theater you went to is an independent theater? Theaters that are self-operated and not part of chains are not required to show a set amount of stuff in front of a movie.
Ours is a Kerasotes theatre that was recently bought by AMC. They showed the PC trailer back when that was coming out, but tonight there weren't any previews that came close to matching the goodness of a VDT trailer. Just the usual slapstick and low-brow silliness.

We've already had several members report seeing the trailer appear before Toy Story 3, so it is appearing. The trailers shown before Toy Story will vary from one theater to another. If you want to make sure that you'll see the VDT trailer before Toy Story, you should call the theater and confirm beforehand.
