Yeah, Warrior, I had something like that in mind too. To me, I pictured the magicians house like a plain British Mansion (by plain I mean ordinary). Personally, the mansion is better of being ordinary. I always loved that image of the Caspian and Co. walking up to this perfectly ordinary house with everything looking so pristine and in order only to find out one small thing: everything was not so ordinary. That paradox image was always so cool to me. So, although I do like the look of the photo for just photographic sake, I don't think it is the best thing to have for the Magician's house.
Lastly, I would like to point out something which I noticed and am curious whether anyone else thought so. The last few days prior to seeing these photos I had gone through all The Lord of The Rings movies. So, when I saw the photos, the images from the LOTR were still fresh in my head. It was for that reason that I immediately thought, "Rivendell!" , when I saw that house photo. I don't know, the tone and feel of the picture as well as the design of the house strongly reminded me of Rivendell (pardon if my spelling is wrong).

The Magician's house has a very strange look. It's like an old English castle with mosque-like domes. Very odd. I'm not seeing the similarity to Rivendell, sorry.

I always pictured it as a large mansion, not as big as the Professor's house in MN but much bigger than a cottage.
That's pretty much how I pictured it too. But I imagined it to be somewhat rural and simplistic, maybe with stone walls and ivy crawling up the side. Lots of greenery. A path leading up to the door. A nice fence encircling the garden.
That being said, I still love the design in the concept art. It's different, but it looks magical.

Although the pictures are not by far identical, they do have a similar feel, don't you agree?

Hmm, I guess it does look a little like Rivendell. I didn't see it at first because my mental image of Rivendell has become more influenced by the LotRO Rivendell than the movie Rivendell. I don't hate the look of Coriakin's house, but it just seems a little over the top. He is supposed to be in exile after all. I had always pictured the house looking more like an old house from the English countryside. Something like this:
That is amazing. Very much like how I imagined it, only with far less chimneys.

The last two posted look like actual pictures from the movie
I agree with Damsel; in fact, I suggest that they are artist's impressions of movie stills, much as the well-known image of Lucy opening the wardrobe for LWW. In details we can verify, they are spot on: Coriakin's garden, the Moeraki boulders and Caspian's haircut in the "Search Game". The possible Dark Island thumbnail image is just as it is shown through Ed's telescope, as Silver points out. And the persons shown in the concept art are recognizable by clothes as well as facial and bodily features; I see Lucy as the central figure in the Goldwater-Dragon image because of the red vest and blue trousers we've already seen her wearing.
What do you all think of this idea?
My overall impression of the games page is that it still needs plenty of work; filler text and broken links aside. Among other things, "Game Title" is obviously not the final wording for that particular button!

That's funny, but I always imagined it being the opposite. I imagined a rather large house, more of a mansion, with a courtyard and a concrete exterior with a large dining hall and stairs leading from the courtyard up into the long hallway that Lucy walks down. This actually fits really well with how I imagined it when I was reading the book.
Exactly. I kind of pictured something from 1800's England... kind of like the Bennets' house in the 2005 version of Pride & Prejudice, but smaller and more...normal. Kind of like the picture Bookwyrm posted. I'm not a big fan of this domed building, though. Maybe it's not Coriakin's house? I hope it's not.
Could it be something from the first island they visit, the one where they get

I know! They reminded me of something out of Rivendell too. I think part of it is due the coloring & style of the artwork. I like the style of these pictures, but I don't know if I like what they're depicting.
Although, it is concept art. With LWW & PC, there were a lot of concept art pieces that didn't really reflect anything in the movie. *shrug*

I think it is Coriakin's house because of the shots in the trailer of Lucy with the book the ceiling looks domed i think.
There are no clouds in the sky. There is only the open sun and the Lord watches.
I think so too, decarus. The library in the trailer had a domed roof and the room was circular. I wish it wasn't the magician's house. It was so queer (in a good way) in the book. You're sailing uncharted waters and have already encountered islands with strange and magical occurrences, and then you see an ordinary-looking English cottage. The way it is in the movie reminds me of a church I once saw.
I agree. I also liked that it was like this random English house on this island, but it is okay if it is different.
