I feel the same way. Despite the few bits of new spoilers, (which we had already been speculating on), I actually feel more positive about the film than I did before Narniafaith came online a few days ago.

I don't like that fact that Lucy turns into Susan! She is suposed to be prettier than Susan! Oh why do they have to ruin the movie like this :(( :((

Lucy is not supposed to look prettier than Susan, it says in the book that Susan was the beauty of the family.

As aragon2 pointed out, in the books, Susan is the beauty of the family, causing Lucy to feel overshadowed. Unfortunately this won't work too well in the movie since, IMHO, Georgie H. has much more natural beauty than Anna P. Both are very lovely, though. I'm not exactly sure they're "ruining" the movie yet....though I do have my doubts on how all this is going to play out.

I saw the movie....and was disappointed

Beauty is subjective either of them could be considered beautiful. Even though the book said Susan was the beauty of the family, I never though of Lucy as plain or anything.

I do not like the sound of the beauty spell thing at all...Lucy did not want to look just like Susan-she wanted to be more beautiful then Susan, so everyone would notice her instead of Susan

Rather then a dream of what life would be life if Lucy was Susan, I think it would have worked better if they showed Lucy looking beautiful in England with all of the boys noticing her, and Susan looking pale and plain alone and neglected.

Or...and I know this would anger some people...they could have shown Lucy looking into the book at the kiss scene at the end of PC and instead of Susan kissing Caspian, a beautiful Lucy kisses Caspian while Susan (who looks more plain then usual) watches jealously. Then they could show all of the men being jealous of Caspian getting to kiss Lucy and then a fight breaks out in which Caspian dies. Lucy then says (in real life) she doesnt care and almost says the spell.

That would be really weird, I don't think I would like it.

Wow Josh. Those are some pretty strong ideas. I have to say that while scenario 2 is indeed shocking, it's very close to the book, isn't it? I think I would actually be okay with it. Though it would tend to dredge up Lucpian...

Josh I like your first idea but I agree that your second one is a bit...strong for my taste :p I think one of the problems with "showing" Lucy as more beautiful is: how do you do that? And how do you make Susan look plain. Beauty is subjective so that would be hard to show. They could show everyone fawn over Lucy instead of Susan.

Not that anyone really fawns over Susan as it is. (at least not in the two movies we've seen - unless you count Caspian and the bespectacled boy at the beginning of PC)
Of course in VDT that might be different.

Well, Susan's in America, so maybe it is different. After all, what American boy doesn't want to be with an English beauty like Susan(just joking!)? ;;)

Josh, I think it'd be great if they showed the first one. The second one could work, but that just leaves me weirded out. :-o

I have to wonder about this: is Edmund, Caspian or even Eustace noticing all of this? Caspian and Eustace aren't likely to see this, but you'd think Edmund might spot it. When Lucy is copying the flirting lady, I can imagine Edmund stopping in mid-sentence complaining about Eustace and ask "What are you doing?" Or when Lucy asks if she looks like Susan, Edmund mutters "Of course not! Why are you asking that?" This could be very interesting... :D

One problem josh is that is that I don't think the beauty spell would go back in time, it would just make her beautiful then and there.
Though they could have the crew of the DT tear itself apart.

The beauty spell wouldnt go back in time. Lucy would be watching the end of the PC movie senario on the book, and would then see herself replacing Susan as an example.

As for making Lucy look better looking and Susan look plain. Well they could always start by putting better make up and stuff on Lucy and making Susan's skin look more pale and stuff. Or they could use CGI even to enhance some of Lucy's better looks. This is always something I wondered about how they would do it in the movie.

Hm. I'm not so sure about the Caspian-kissing-Lucy-instead-of-Susan idea, though I think something along those lines would work.
Because Lucy is overshadowed by her sister in the book, I think it's mostly the attention Lucy wants; her being more beautiful than Susan would be the way that Lucy thinks will get her the attention. So having people fawning over her and such would probably work better than actually making Lucy "pretty."
