What do you think?
Just an experiment. Do you think you would find these videos useful if we posted one every month?
I would love to have your honest opinions. If it sucks, tell me and say why and how it can be improved. I don't want to commit to spending time making a video every month until I feel like the idea is working.
I'd agree that a Narnia news video clip would be useful, and I love the quiet way it is done. But I'd beware of putting too much print in it. There are people who can't read quickly, and a talking head would convey as much information.
On the other hand, why not make your monthly podcast into a monthly Vodcast?
^ Thanks a million for the feedback! I've been pondering how NarniaWeb can spread to YouTube for a while now. This is just the first experiment.
Would slowing down the text solve the problem? Or do you just think text is not a good idea?
I really like the idea! It's very useful in keeping my thoughts together -- being reminded of all the things that have hapenned so far. With all the news coming, it gets to be kind of a whirlwind of information in my head. The video helped keep it all straight.
I don't think it went too fast. I was able to read it just fine. If you want to slow it down, I think it would only need to be slowed down a little bit.

I think it might be better to listen to the new instead of having to read it, maybe I'm just a little lazy.
I actually really liked the Nutshell video. I think it's a great way to recap the month—frankly, after the recent bombshells came out, I'd just about forgotten about anything that had happened in early September! I'm not an expert on these sorts of things, but I like the layout of the video and the way it's put together.
The text wasn't a drawback for me, but it might be better if it faded in and out, rather than scroll, since it can be tough to read something that's moving.
Including links to the various articles in the description beneath video might be a good idea, so if viewers want to read further on a particular news story, it's just a click away.
Oh, and I thought the music was cool. Overall, I enjoyed it.
I definitely would prefer voice over text. Not that I can't read that fast, I just absorb it better if I'm listening/watching rather than reading.
I thought that was spectacular! It's a great way to show everything that's beengoing on! If Fox markets the movie like Disney did for PC, after the two month mark, we'll get more news then we can imagine. This works well to show all the news some people might've missed. If there's one thing I'd like to see, it's that every video(if you keep doing this) has different music and maybe a slightly different style.
Besides that, I hope you'll make another one next month!
That was awesome! Make more! The only problem with the text was that, if there were 4 lines or more it wen't by too fast. I would definitely keep the text though, because some people don't have speakers- and sometimes you can't understand a word or phrase. It'd be cool to have both voice and text though

I do think the videos would be helpful glumPuddle. It's a nice way to recap the news for the month and it would be very interesting to look back on when the film is complete (as a way to compare to future films the time it takes for certain information to be revealed).
I do agree with the points being made on the text. At some points it rolls too fast (to be read, the rule of on screen text is that it should be held long enough for the audience to read what is there at least twice). I believe that the scolling of text should be changed (it's really more fitting for credits, not for what really needs to be read). Perhaps just bullets next to the date (I'm glad this is included where it is as well) of the main ideas, so it's not a constant read.
I do like the effects, they are working really well. It's nice to see the NW main page as well, a nice reference back to the text you have included. It's also really nice that you have included sound clips and videos at the bottom of the screen as well (it adds a nice change of pace from just the text). Music and color scheme are also easy on the eyes and ears. A quick note on the music, if you can change it, I would bring the volume down a bit more on the BG music when dialogue clips are used (just because it's a bit distracting listening to both play over each other, for me anyway).
I think this is a great idea glumPuddle. It seems like an interesting way to chronicle the making of the film in a different medium, by the fans and for the fans.

I think its great!! So good to have everything put "in a nutshell" so we can sort of review everything in a concise fashion. I like the fact that its also helping promote the film - as well as narniaweb - online which can only be good
The editing is excellent although I agree that the words could perhaps be just a little bit slower in the parts where there is a paragraph or so to fit in. Sometimes a fade-in works really well for words too as it tends to be easier to read and you don't have to scroll your eyes up and down the page. That's just my opinion though, it is very good even without any changes. May I please ask what editing program you used to do this?
Thanks!!

Sorry if this is the 3rd time I have posted this. I'm having computer troubles today
I think the idea is great!!!! Its really good to have something where everything is all together in a concise format. The editing is really good indeed, although I agree that the words could be a bit slower in places where there is a paragraph or so to get through. Sometimes a fade in works really well for this type of thing.
Wonderful idea having the date and a colour theme at the bottom of the page. Also nice how you zoom in on some pictures to emphasis different points - such as Eustace (?) the dragon. Could I please ask what editing program you used to do this?
Thanks!!!

I love it. It is a great idea. I personally like text because I absorb things much better if I read them instead of hearing them. You might want to add a couple more details from the articles. (like what some of the controversy was / is).
By the way what font did you use for the Narnia News in a Nutshell text?

Wll done! I like it a lot.
I thought it was great! Very nice. I think a voice-over is in order though. I'll volunteer to do it if you'd like. I need an outlet for my radio training...
