I may actually be able to get on board for this. As it happens, I have a weekend off, and there's a showing at my theater, so I may be able to take along a few friends...
I, too, can appreciate your initiative, and I'm glad people are enthusiastic about this!
I might actually be able to do this as well! After asking several of my friends whether or not they had seen Narnia 3 yet, they told me they had not.
I gave them the look.
Suddenly said friends were interested in seeing the film, and now we're planning on getting together and watch it on Friday night. I hope a lot of people actually read this forum; hopefully it spreads. It's a wonderful idea!
I wish I had heard of this event sooner! Everyone put the date in your signatures so that everyone on NW knows about it.
I'm going to encourage my students to see the film this weekend, and fellow church-members.
There is now a Facebook event for Narnia Days:

This should make it easier to invite friends.

You should show the guest list on the event. If somebody from Fox is watching, having a large number of people attending can really be helpful.
I was going to go either Sunday or Monday to see VODT for the fifth time, then I looked up showtimes and my local theater is showing the final VODT tonight at 7:05p! So I guess I won't be part of the official Narnia days, but I'll still support it. Check your listings just to be sure your plans are not spoiled for the weekend.
I really want to see the movie another time, but I have to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and I made plans for Monday which I won't be able to change to include seeing VDT. I wouldn't have anyone to go with anyway, and I don't really want to go by myself. *sighs* At least, I managed to see it twice in the theater, something I wanted to do for LWW and PC but wasn't able to.
I did talk about the movie with some students while I was subbing today. Some had seen it. One student told me he liked it better than the other two.
It will be interesting to see if the numbers at the box office reflect the effort. I have no idea how a facebook event or facebook in general works but if it must have the potential to be powerful for advertising otherwise I wouldn't be seeing a lot of companies advertising that they are on facebook.

This should be great. I'm definitely going to the theater this weekend. I will bring at least 2 other people with me. I wish we could have gotten the facebook site up more in advance, but still we should be able to get some traction for this. The numbers have not been huge that have kept Narnia out of the top 10, so we could make a difference.
I went to see it this evening, since it will be out of my theater tomorrow. It was fun. I'm glad I got to see it one last time...

Yeah, I'm in New York city and i will have to travel to see the movie since the house close to me has also dropped theaters. It's really depressing that they dropped so many, so quickly.
Good idea. I will try to get some friends to see it tomorrow. It will be my 3rd time watching & it will be a drive since it isn't showing nearby anymore. But I'm excited to be a part of this.

All right! I went last night, with four others. The theater, I was pleasantly surprised to see, was full, and the audience's reactions to the film was great; they were laughing enjoying the film as if it were opening night.
Anyone else gone yet?
Well Narnia days are officially over in australia... and looks like it was just in time... it seems that narnia will be playing for another few days in its few remaining theatres in Australia... but what a way to see it out! Bring on the dvd... if only there were a way to know how much money was added throughn this... not a huge amount im sure, but id still like to know! Thanks heaps to everyone who joined in.
