I agree, this map seems to be sticking close to the book (with a few exceptions). I really don't think this gives us much info about what the movie will be like... but it's cool all the same! Oh, and the thing to the left of Ramandu's Island is a merman, I'm pretty sure. So I'm guessing that's where they would see the merpeople.
I wonder why Aslan's Country is so far south? And it's interesting that Narnia is absent, I wanted to take my ship right from Cair Paravel and follow the course of the book all the way through, but alas the map doesn't go far enough west for Narnia.

Cool. Just logged in got the map. Still haven't looked at it yet but as soon as I logged in I was asked a 'riddle' to get more points. The question was who is directing VDT. I'm pretty sure I didn't get many points though because instead of getting points for just logging in I only got points for the question so maybe they've ditched the logging in points thing. At the top you can click on the new riddle button. Seems like you can only get the same question though and can't answer it twice. The map is cool too but I must admit it took me awhile to figure it out - anyone found any treasure?

My sister pointed out something to me that I had forgotten about. In the book, after Reepicheep sails away, Lucy, Edmund, and Eustace walk south to where they meet Aslan. I think Aslan's Country on the map is really where this happens. And, in the trailer, Reepicheep is there when Aslan appears to them (If that's the end of the world. Since it's the trailer we can't be positive, but I'm 99.9% sure it is).
I can get on the map, and I don't have an account either. Interesting...so I wonder if more will be added to it or if it will just be "sail the boat around"?
Also, I looked at Reepicheep's profile and it says "TBA." Did it ever say Simon Pegg, or did it say Simon Pegg and now it says TBA?
^ When we saw that, we still believed it was Bill Nighy. So we asked why it said TBA and found out they had recast as Simon Pegg. They just haven't updated it yet.
Oh, I see. Thanks for explaining! I thought something else might be up.
anyone found any treasure?
Nope im guessing there isn't any yet.
The user TelmarPictures (in the comments section) managed to extract the background images for all 6 character pages. I'm suitably impressed... i tried for ages to work out how to do that. lol.

Even though we weren't supposed to see it (owing to the fact its been badly photoshopped out where it would usually be visible), i still have no idea why the picture of Coriakin's Library has giant 3D text on it in the first place - the first word looks like it might be "Map" perhaps, and the second word maybe "Create" or "Creature"? huh?
And of course, they didn't get the one I really wanted... the one with the Dawn Treader.
That made me realize how misleading the shot with Eustace in it is. He may not even be in the shot when Gael and that guy are running.

I'm guessing the watermark is "Soap Creative" the apparent creators of the site (right click on narnia.com pages).

Ahh, that makes alot of sense Thanks.
Though quite why they wouldn't be able to remove their own watermark from one of the images without resorting to crude photoshopping seems a little odd. lol.
...the shot when Gael and that guy are running
It probably says alot about the way things are going with the movie so far given that you refer to them as "Gael and that guy" rather than "Rhince and that Girl" hehe.
Don't know if anyone's posted this yet but on the homepage, there is a scroll in the top left-hand corner and when you put the mouse arrow over it, it opens and says explore Narnia. If you click on it, it brings up a sort of map that has a boat with two people in it. You can click anywhere on the ocean and it shows you that part, but you can't explore the islands. I saw The Lone Islands, Burnt Island, Dragon Island, Goldwater Island (notice it's not named Deathwater), The Seven Isles, Magician's Island (not Duffer's Island), Ramandu's Island, and Aslan's Country. Also, there was a foggy, green-ish island that had no name, so that is likely the Dark Island.

Agreed. The only thing I can guess is that they under-estimated Narnia fans ( ) and didn't think anyone would catch the sloppy points of their work. Flam also noted in the chat room that there's some photoshopping going on with the Edmund shot. (Most noticeable around the center of his armor, near the belt thing that comes across his chest).
And, yes, Ali, they added the map on Saturday. It appears to be book based locations (no combined islands) and order; the name changes, which I think have been whispered around for awhile, are Deathwater=Goldwater and Duffer's Island=Magician's Island.
One thing I've found since looking over the pictures is that this shot from way back at Narrowhaven is definitely Rhince. See the splits down his apron/shirt here; and, of course, this background. Where Gael is at that moment (first shot) I'm a bit curious about.

This is true. I can never keep them straight and Rhince aka that guy isn't even the same character it seems in the film that he was in the books. I think Gael may have more of a part then him. We will see.
