That being said, I have been wondering if those of us on the site now are not unlike beta testers. /:) Thats actually okay with me. Admittedly, I got a lot frustrated with finding treasure. I do like the overall concept of the game; the ships look cool. :) Dreadfully slow on my computer though (Power Book G4 1.5GHz).

Yes, Lady Liln, regular hints would be helpful.

“Safe?” said Mr. Beaver; “don’t you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”

I agree it would be nice if there was some kind of prize for finding the treasure or getting so many points. Even if it is just an electronic prize such as wallpaper or things one can print out. Or a person could be entered in a drawing for some kind of prize for each treasure. I like the changes in the ship too.

WOW, I'm less observant than I thought! All you have to do is click on 'Edit ship' and it shows you each stage your ship will go through... and wow, it does change alot. I can't believe I didn't notice such a drastic change; it starts out as basically a dinghy! I guess I need to pay more attention to stuff. :p

Heh, I never noticed that either; I wonder when it was added, as I'm almost positive it wasn't there initially. :p

That being said, I have been wondering if those of us on the site now are not unlike beta testers. /:)

It does seem like it. :p I don't really care either, but it's odd, imo.

*wonders if the site developers are reading this thread*

No, the edit ship thing where you can view the various stages of your ship has been there from the very beginning.

I agree, there should be some sort of prize, atleast like a wallpaper or something (like Pattertwigs Pal said). I'm sure the game isn't finished yet though, maybe there will be more incentive later on. So far, there's not really much to motivate me to go searching for treasure for very long. But I've been pretty lucky with the hints people give on the Facebook help thread, so that I don't have to spend much time looking.

They've introduced a new sort of Xbox-Live style "Achievements" page on your character profiles, which earn you points for extra things (e.g. logging in 10 days in a row) apparently i'm a "Warrant Officer" now ;) - hopefully all this points gathering will prove to be worthwhile in the end and it will unlock some special access to something cool ;)

Also, they've now made the images as a seperate page, got rid of the random photos, and added a new VDT still of Lucy in the Library with the snow:

http://www.narnia.com/us/#/images/4769406867

Can someone with the relevant magical powers extract that in the form of a Jpeg or something?

The image is just that little bit too big to all fit on the screen at one time, so you can't just do a "Print Screen" capture of it.

EDIT: You also now get a little message when you sail your ship into the Dark Island. All it says is "Welcome to Dark Island: Coming Soon", but hopefully whatever is coming soon will be something worthwhile. :)

EDIT2: In fact you get a coming soon message for all the islands it seems if you sail right up to them, except the definite non-movie Islands.... and not Dragon Island either. A big hint perhaps? All the evidence so far has pointed towards Dragon Island getting merged into somewhere else, so maybe...

For the record, the locations that pop-up as "Coming Soon" are Narrowhaven, Goldwater, Magician's Island, Dark Island, Ramandu's Island and Aslan's Country...

Has anyone noticed the weird black spots cropping up everywhere? Odd. I'm looking forward to what they're doing with the islands. I find it a pain though when you find the treasure - refreshing the page can take a long time and I don't know if it works. Love the new pic. Good thoughts on the island thing too icarus.

Good thoughts on the island thing too icarus.

I'm thinking that whatever content is coming for each of those islands is going to be movie-based content (even though the map itself is heavily book-based in its layout). Remember like what we got on the website for Prince Caspian? Where you could explore various movie locations and click about to find the hidden characters? I'm thinking that it will be something very much like that. The fact that Dragon Island is not present in the Coming Soon list seems as good a confirmation as you can get really.

I think pretty much everyone suspected it would get merged into Deathwater when we heard the "seven into five" quote, and we had evidence from the early Video Game Design Maps that they were at one point in time thinking of combining Deathwater and Dragon Island, and im pretty sure Dragon Island is the only island we have never heard referred to by name thus far in the production period, so this to me looks like another nail in the coffin of Dragon Island.

Obviously all the necessary events of Dragon Island are still going to be in the movie, but as for having it as a separate island, its not looking good so far. At present the coming soon list has that magic number of 5 islands (plus one extra for Aslan's Country) so i would be very surprised if they added in any more islands to the website later on.

So does the dark island seem to move around on the map? You said dark spots. That is an interesting idea. If they have to visit the dark island more then one time. That could explain why they had to leave Eustace because the island disappeared.

Yes, I have noticed. I wonder why they're there?

For some reason, I have three achievement medals: Frequent Sailor, Frequent Sailor, and Narnian Missive. Yes, I said Frequent Sailor twice. It's weird, I can't figure out why I have two of the same achievement. Anyone else experience this? :-?

I only have one achievement - frequent sailor. I'm at a bit of a disadvantage though since I don't have facebook (and I have no intention of getting it just to get more points. :p ). People seem to assume that everyone has facebook. It gets annoying. At least the page with the hints is a public page so I can access it. Otherwise I would have very few points. ;)) I don't bother looking for the treasure. I just go to the last page of the hints and find the posts.

Ditto! I'm a bit upset with all the Facebook integration as I don't have FB. I can still play/enjoy the page without any major inconveniences though.

But, a large majority of the population does have FB; so if playing "Hunt for Treasure" and then posting it to your wall/page/whatever it is increases a bit of buzz or at least interest for VDT, then I'm okay with that; I mean, I've got NWeb to keep me busy. :) ;))

HM Swanwhite, with the most recent update, the treasure points show up as soon as you've found the treasure. Your score should increase by 75 points once you've found the treasure.

And, I'm really hoping those black bits are just faulty programming and supposed to be clouds. I really don't want them to be some Darkness which is a Unfathomable Fate and overtaking Narnia. :-s [-(

Well, if it helps with increasing interest that makes it better. Narnia.com isn't the only place that is pushing facebook. A lot of organizations are on facebook and are making sure it is known. The whole facebook craze gets on my nerves sometimes. My sister gets a hard time from people because she doesn't have facebook, almost as if she isn't "somebody." Anyway, I'm getting off subject.
I wonder if those dark spots are just supposed to represent deeper water.
