I think that is a terrific song for the movie. Click on the link and scroll down to the last song which is called "Maiden Voyage". You can hear a clip from it.

You can also hear a clip of the song on iTunes if you search Hearts and Hands: Maiden Voyage" it's the first song on the list.

Well, it sounds really interesting. It suits to the atmosphere and to the story. It also gives the feeling of calmness and as a whole is beautiful :) .

Thanks for the votes and comments. :) I was a little surprised at how many more voted for the music's being extremely important. ^:)^

But I shouldn't have been though because I have seen movies where the score was the best thing about them. Also, I have seen movies where the film would not have been as good or great without the great score.

So I am really looking forward to the score being composed by David Arnold for VDT. I am hoping it will be part of enhancing and lifting up the film to a higher level than could be reached without it.

Music is always important if films, but I think it will be especially important in VDT, especially near the end when they're near Aslan's Country. The music will set the tone. I hope the main Narnia theme is included for continuity's sake, but I didn't hear a whole lot of themes that really stood out in either of the movies. Sure, they were good, but they didn't stick with me. If I heard a piece of the soundtrack that didn't include the main theme I probably wouldn't recognize it. Sorry to all who absolutely adore the soundtrack, it just didn't grab me the way other pieces have.

But going back to VDT, I can't wait to hear what David Arnold does when they reach the edge of the world. The conversation between Lucy and C.S.Lewis has always stuck with me. "'It would break your heart.' 'Why,' said I, 'was it so sad?' 'Sad?! No.'" Heartbreaking and yet not sad at the same time, I can't wait to hear it!

Music is really important in any film. It has to go with the story and scenes to create the perfect atmosphere and feeling.

lostin1800, I agree that the music is important to every movie. But I also feel that the music is especially important in this movie because of the numerous shots they will have of the Dawn Treader gliding across the open waves. The music MUST be majestic and soaring to create that "awe" feeling. I am really confident that David Arnold will do a superb job!!

I saw the movie....and was disappointed

I think it's pretty important to have the music in VDT.

"Are you sure you're eighteen?"
"Why? Do I look older?"

I tend to think that too many movies use music as a crutch. Music should remain in the background, and not be noticed by the audience. Heard, but not noticed.

The best musical score of all time is Jaws. The movie wouldn't be very good at all without it. And yet, the main theme is just two notes. Not something you can hum, or something you'd want to listen to on a CD. But it serves the story brilliantly.
