Worst thing they could do is hire a nwer...
I'll let you all ponder that one alone
"The mountains are calling and I must go, and I will work on while I can, studying incessantly." -John Muir
"Be cunning, and full of tricks, and your people will never be destroyed." -Richard Adams, Watership Down
Thay have Rebecca Black sing the end-of-credits song.
Winter Is Coming
6. Digory never rings the bell.
A topic exactly like this one was made a few months ago, and it got shut down because it was labeled as "fanfiction". Don't write any dialogue and keep the points short and I think this topic should be okay.
Thanks for the warning, we'll keep that in mind. I'm sorry if some people don't like this thread, maybe if we keep saying why they are bad the film makers won't be tempted.
So far I've counted 16 things we do not want in the movie, so...
17. Replace the wood between the worlds with an industrial complex. I mean, seriously, what's wrong with the woods?

The two worst things I can think of is having Aslan not be the creator, but rather he's just "there" (LWW anyone?). The other thing is that the children are more heroes less, "Well, you messed this up, now here's a task to go fix it."
I'm really not worried about Jadis being left out, they can't seem to do that in any of the other films, why should they start now?
Aslan, on the other hand has been known to get the short end of the stick while kids have a bigger part.

Nothing will go wrong.. It will be the best Narnia film yet... I have faith!

Clive, I had to look up Rebecca Black. I don't know if it was a good idea to do so but I'm certain I wouldn't want her to sing anything for Narnia. Why do these things happen? Her song 'Friday' takes everything that is crap about pop music (shallow badly-written lyrics, poor singing and a supremely generic beat) and wears it like a badge of honour by incorporating it all into one song. No shame!

*has a feeling she knows who will end up in this movie in one way or another... There are worse things that could be done I suppose... like if they combined it with another book.

Warrior, thank goodness that's the ONLY song she's done so far. I've been discussing this horror scenario with my siblings, and we all agree that if there was a Rebecca Black song in the next Narnia movie it would be about how Aslan created Narnia on Friday, friday, friday.... (fun fun fun!)
What about Magician's Nephew casting? I got so caught up in casting Silver Chair and was so set on certain actors as being perfect...but with TMN, it's a bit tougher. We've got to cast Uncle Andrew, Jadis, Digory's Mom, Aunt Letty, the Cabby and his wife - Frank and Helen, as well as the voice of Fledge/Strawberry. Pretty sure they'd want Tilda Swinton back as Younger Jadis.

18. (Brace yourself) Digory and Polly aren't in the movie, it actually stars Eustace and Jill when they time travel to the beginning of Narnia.

Clive, unfortunately she's recording more songs.
A more sombre version of Count Olaf (Jim Carrey) would work for Uncle Andrew. The resemblance is amazing!

MUCH more sombre. Count Olaf was actually evil, whereas Uncle Andrew is delusional and arrogant. Though to be safe, I'd rather not let Jim Carrey ever touch anything Narnian...just in case.

Haha!
Yes, much more sombre. I enjoy Jim Carrey in some movies but agree that Narnia isn't the right place for him. The physical resemblance between the two characters is still telling.

LOL! This is a plot twist I would truly appreciate for obvious reasons. I'm not a huge fan of MN the book.

I tried watching the youtube video, but I began to have a waking nightmare in which my temporal lobes mutinied against me, so I couldn't finish.
@stateofgreen I like the book, especially the character of Digory. I just don't see the book translating to film.
But I should try to think of something that could go wrong . . .
19. The film makers have gotten so used to squeezing in random villains where they don't belong, that they can no longer help themselves. MN will feature a cameo of Sergio Castellito appearing as a green mist!
20. Magician's Nephew will be a PC nightmare, where it is cruel to send poor ickle guinea pigs to be abandoned in strange woods. Digory is sent for psychiatric evaluation when he insists on ringing bells and manhandling Polly to do so. Far from his being any sort of hero, he and Polly are counselled by Jadis on non-sexist conflict resolution. Uncle Andrew's drinking problem is quietly not mentioned and Jadis tries to take over Buckingham Palace.
