i think it works well, even if they don't let her do a lot of fighting, at least this is a sword and not her little dagger (which i think worked great in LWW, but with Susan fighting so much in PC, i think Lucy could have had something more)

or have you forgotten who really defeated the White Witch,Peter~Lucy

I looked a lot closer at her sword and it definitely looks like Trumpkins....i think it would be cool if they had trumpkins sword on board and then they gave it to Lucy....(see picture below)

I saw the movie....and was disappointed

Wow A_Narnian_Ship, I do believe you're right. Good eye! It seems a little odd that Trumpkin's sword would be on board, while Trumpkin himself isn't, but I'm not opposed to it at all.

Fascinating development. I think it's a little unusual, and I don't know that I would like it being Trumpkin's actual sword. They were close, but I hardly think they were close enough. This seems like an echo of the whole situation with Peter's sword that we've been wondering about.

I'll admit that I like how it looks on Lucy, and I can maybe see her asking to use it if she learned it was onboard (Or Caspian offering it to her), but as Narnialover101 pointed out, why would it be on board at all? Wouldn't Trumpkin keep it with him? I assume he is supposed to be still alive?

Perhaps they had some other dwarf sword they could give her. It wasn't exactly as if they had expected her to turn up and had brought something for her from the start ;)

Could it be ellipses? That doesn't make much sense. *is confused*

Since Weta Workshop isn't on-board with VDT, it's likely that Lucy's sword is Trumpkin's. Love it!

I think it's safe to say that Lucy has trumpkin's sword of the dawn treader, which doesn't make much sense but I don't think dwarfs are in the habbit of making the same type of sword... Just look at Ginabrick's sword it's very different from trumpkins. I get the feeling dwarfs pride them selves in the craftsmanship and I might ever venture to say that trumpkin crafted his own sword.
