There are a few of us who have noticed lately that there seems to be an increasing sense of negativity surrounding The Voyage of the Dawn Treader movie. I can't necessarily blame anybody for that. I think 90% of the people on this site arrived here because of a love of the books and so for every change there will be a person who won't like it... and the bigger or more drastic the change(s), the less popular it becomes.
The irony is, this site is supposed to be a Narnia movie fansite. It's a bit of a bad sign if someone comes on here wanting to find out about the next Narnia movie and sees the negativity coming from the fans.
So I'm starting this thread because I don't think everybody is as upset as it seems. It's simply easier to talk about the things you don't like rather than the things you do like. I know for myself, I may not be happy about all the changes being made, BUT, I'm still looking forward to seeing the movie this December. Who's with me?
P.S. Please keep this thread completely free of spoilers. We've been having some trouble lately with them showing up around the boards.
I am!
I can't wait for the movie to come out! I am disappointed about certain changes, but that doesn't keep me from great anticipating this film. I think overall I am really going to enjoy it. It should be a great adventure film, where lots of exciting and magical things take place.
Check out "The Magician's Nephew" and "The Last Battle" trailers I created!

I am!
I've been having dreams since last year about it for wolf's sake ( )
There is a lot of stuff that I can't wait to see on film, like... haha joking , no I shall not post any spoilers here. (I know I said that before, but this time I mean it!) I think over all I'm going to like it. I just have one teeny tiny question...
Is it December yet?!

I think Dawn Treader will be a great film, and I'm looking forward to it intensely. Ideally, us lifelong fans of the books wish the movie was made just for us explicitly, but it can't always be that way. Sometimes changes have to be made, whether we think they're necessary or not. We have the original Narnia of our imagination, and we should treasure that. This is just an interpretation.
I'm looking forward to this as it appears to be shaping up to be a good movie. There are too few of those out there. Also, ever since Poulter was cast as Eustace, I've been wanting to see his performance. The snippets we've seen so far show, at least to me, that he seems to fit the role very well. I am looking forward to seeing it!
I am very excited for the movie! There have been changes that have made me upset, and I know there may be some things I'll never like, but altogether, I have strong hopes for this movie!
Just like starkat and many other NarniaWebbers, I am very excited for Will Poulter as Eustace! He does a great job, and I'm glad the movie makers made such a marvelous casting choice! I can't wait for Skandar, Georgie, and Ben to come back, and I'm hyper to see the return of Reepicheep! The sets and costumes look awesome, and I assure you, I have never been this excited for a movie to come out until now!
Now if only we'd get more footage soon(hint hint)...
There are certain aspects of the movie that I think I will really like. Eustace for one thing. I love Will Poulter as Eustace (at least from what we have seen of him) and I have a feeling he will be awsome. I think his relationship with Reepicheep will be great as well.
I want to see Eustace grab Reep's tail.
I can't wait to see Aslan say his famous line at the end as well. That will make me so happy.

Well, yes and no. Yes, I do look forward to seeing the movie (I am a Narnia fan afterall), but the level of excitement has dropped as compared to when I went to see LWW or PC.
I understand that changes need to be made (books and film are two entirely different media), but there is a point of crossing the line. There are a few scenes and characters that I am really excited to see, but there was nothing in the trailers that really shouted out to me "this movie is going to be awesome".
So, I guess to put it simply, I am excited for VDT just not as much as I was for the first two films.

I will certainly be seeing the movie when it comes out. No single thing I am looking to see, nor is there any particular thing that I dislike.
Overall impression is that it will do well in December.
Even further, I know that a lot of people worked very hard on the production. I want to see the kids on the big screen again. I wont to know how Arabella Morton is going to fit in. I want to see Tony Nixon as Rynelf.
Like it or not, I will kick some money back into the industry. We know some of our feelings are heard.
I am sensitive about the undragoning and the end of the movie. Very sensitive matter for me.
“Safe?” said Mr. Beaver; “don’t you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”
VERY excited for the release of this movie! I will personally take everyone from my family that I can to see this movie! The trailers look great and I like what I'm seeing and reading!

While the movie is obviously going to be far from perfect, I am still looking forward to it quite a bit and will certainly see it in theaters w/ as many family members as I can pull in with me!
