They want to be careful about how much kidnapping is used, though. Caspian went off to find 7 lords. Eustace was undragonned because he still had things to do, basically. (film). Eustace, Jill and Puddleglum have to look for the kidnapped Rilian according to Aslan, because Narnia needs its new king now that Caspian is dying.

Now that is fine and good, but there is quite a bit of kidnapping going on in the remaining books, isn't there? Shasta was probably still in nappies when as a kid he was delivered to Arsheesh's doorstep, having been kidnapped from his Archenlandish family. And he very nearly stayed kidnapped, since Arsheesh wanted to sell his kid slave to Anradin.

Magician's nephew also includes a kidnapping of sorts when Uncle Andrew gives Polly a magic ring. And the plot gets deeper when Digory and Polly tried to get Jadis out of London. And I haven't got to LB yet, where kidnapping Narnians to work in Calormene mines was par for the course.

How do all these napping of kids or kidnappings differ from each other? Would it be that one is the Detective Story (SC), one is the Escaped prisoner (HHB) and another is the Mad Scientist (MN)? And how would you characterise LB?

I never got to read the leaked VDT script, but I can't help but be reminded of it. I mean, surely the Green Mist is one of the things Apted mentioned earlier on that is supposed to link VDT and SC together; the Lady of the Green Kirtle's soul-sucking cave, anyone? This is what I immediately thought of. I don't think I would necessarily have a problem with this, but as most people aren't fond of the green mist, I'm sure they wouldn't be too fond of this idea either...

"I'm a beast I am, and a Badger what's more. We don't change. We hold on. I say great good will come of it... And we beasts remember, even if Dwarfs forget, that Narnia was never right except when a son of Adam was King." -Trufflehunter
