I don't know what to think of it, Maybe it set it up to explan they are already friends.

Why set up a friendship that is NOT in the book?

There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.

I thought it was random and pointless. A nod to the book fans, but no real reason for it. Honestly, Alberta could have said anything at that point in the story, why did they choose to have her mention Jill? It just doesn't make sense to me. I can see the logic in supposing that the Poles and Scrubbs mixed socially (after all, they sent their children to the same school), but if all of the Poles came over for a visit why would Alberta mention Jill specifically? The potential ramifications of this could be disastrous for Jill and Eustace's relationship in SC.

The answer is, as always, homework. HomeWork! HOME WORK!!! :p :p :p Especially in Cambridge, especially at Experiment House, and especially during a very disruptive World War 2. Never mind summer holidays, there is always more to do. Especially when next term you need to find a missing prince. :)

By the way, as the festive season approaches, I hope everyone on this board has theirs up-to-date. =)) Including me. :( Especially as it can affect end-of-year examination results. Part of the 'homework' is to return one's library books. Failure to do which, if you live in Southern climes, can lead to withholding of said exam results as well as library fines, summer holidays or not.

Unfortunately that's a question that us puritans will be asking for a long time. Those who don't sit in our camp simply say, "Why not?" We must strive for tolerance ;)

If there is a SC movie, they should just ignore that line. Of course, that's depended upon M&M and Apted being jettisoned.

Exactly! :D You, as well as us Cavaliers, as well as everyone else, must strive for tolerance. #:-s By the way that doesn't extend to University professors who have to mark your work. =))

I should mention, by no means does the name-drop necessarily indicate Eustace and Jill are already friends. Jill could be the class representative who dropped by the house frequently during vacation times to give Eustace various school-related items.

Yes, Jill coming around to visit merely indicates that the summer holidays were coming to a close, and that it was time to get ready to return to school. My thoughts exactly, stardf. :)

I've seen it now and totally LOVED IT. I'm sure they'll work it all out if they make SC.

Hey guys, what did you think of the "Jill Pole" reference at the end of the movie?

I thought it was pretty sweet and got my hopes up for Silver Chair :D

I was super pumped when I heard it. Between Aslan's comment about how Narnia may have use of Eustace again and the Jill Pole comment, I am pretty confident there will be a Silver Chair!

I liked it a lot, but it will only make it that much more disappointing if Silver Chair isn't made..
