I'm not sure on that, FriendofNarnia2, but I really doubt that would be the case. I imagine many PG rated film trailers are played in front of G rated films. I don't think they specifically tried to get a G rating on the VDT trailer, I'm guessing that's just the rating they ended up getting after they put the trailer together.

Well we are in this day and age when some violence that counts battle scenes into a movie wouldn't really have to be considered PG in a trailer. You said that the LWW trailers didn't have a rating. I can't see a childrens movie trailer being over rated that is if it wasn't rated because it couldn't be G because it was perfectly fine for all audiences to see. Yet it had a few battle sequences shown and the WW being threatening about giving a war. Why should a rating for VDT be any different?

Until last year all trailers were rated G (or "appropriate for all audiences") unless they were R-rated trailers played in front of R-rated movies, so LWW and PC's trailers were both rated G. (Now the green band at the beginning means "for appropriate audiences" meaning that it can contain PG-13 content if it's attached to a PG-13 movie.)

I've seen worse in G-rated trailers--I don't know why few quick battle shots would cause any problem.

Alyosha, very interesting. I'm just confused how that can be the case if the website linked to by Icarus clearly says that the PC trailer was rated PG, not G and it was released before last year. Perhaps this is something that only applies in the US, and not in Canada?

Could be. Canada's rating system is screwy sometimes It could apply to just Alberta too, as I've never seen anything like that here.

It's just appropriate for a typical audience or the ratings in the US can be completely different from Canada's. I know Canada's ratings are very screwy and your typical G rated movie over there can be PG-13 over in the US and in other countries as well.

Oh wow, thanks for posting that, Icarus! I'm a little confused though. Is that...snow? Why would the Dawn Treader (assuming that is the Dawn treader on the bottom in the middle) be sailing through snowy mountains? I don't know if I should be worried or not.
