[Closed] Is This Accurate?

I stumbled across this link while looking for another movie.
http://www.wildaboutmovies.com/movies/C ... railer.php
I am new to following films so closely and so don't know which sites are usually accurate. According to this site VDT is PG-13 and I was wondering if anyone might be able to verify this.

Not accurate. The movie hasn't even gotten out of the editing stage yet. It won't get a rating until sometime late October or November.

I thought there was an agreement with the CS Lewis estate that all of the films would be PG. :- I'm pretty sure I've heard this in more than one place.

And Bookwyrm says in this topic:

Walden Media and the Lewis Estate have a contractual agreement to only make films rated no higher than a PG,

Yes and I also realized it has William and Anna listed in the cast. That part CAN'T be right.

Well, the jury is still out about William and Anna (whether or not they will have a cameo) but they have Skandar listed twice and no mention of Georgie or Will, so I wouldn't think it would be extremely accurate. According to Narnia.com the film isn't rated yet. I'm pretty sure the companies involved have agreed not to go higher than PG. I don't see anything in VDT that would warrant a PG-13. Really, the only one I could see going that high would be LB.

Walden's website http://www.walden.com/site/movie/the_ch ... n_treader/
lists it as PG, I'm guess that website was a fluke. There's no reason for Dawn Treader to be PG-13. Although, it does give actual reasons. I dunno. Probably just a rumor that the site ran with.

it doesn't look accurate! I mean:
RATING: PG-13 (For violence, adult situations)
?????
adult situations???????????????? that doesn't even sound like Narnia! :p

^ditto. If this movie was PG13, I would be upset. But I wouldn't mind if SC and LB were. Actually, I hope LB is...

Yeah it's fake. I can only see VDT being PG. And ditto GTG. I hope LB would be PG-13, it's going to be very hard to make that as a kids movie with an anti-god roming around.

There's no possible way VDT could have been rated yet. It isn't even out of editing yet. This site's just making stuff up.

I can't stand those web sites that post things as though they are actual fact but then it turns out it's not true.....truth is nice :P

There have been a few movies out there that have gotten their ratings before editing was ever finished. I'm not saying VDT is one of them, but fact is some movies have done that before when a MPAA was already determined just days or weeks after filming something.

Apparently the Walden site has VDT listed as PG, which many studios will do. That is, produce a film with a certain rating in mind and sometimes have that posted on their website.
However, for a film to be rated by the MPAA (which is actually completely optional to the studios, and not a requirement), the studio has to submit a completed version of the film to the MPAA Ratings Board, who then review the film and determine the rating based on their standards. This is impossible to do so soon into the post-production stage, since editing of the film alone is a process that can take months after principal photography is complete.

As is mentioned above. Walden Media has an agreement with the C. S. Lewis Estate to only make PG Narnia films.

Even though this film is not yet rated, if it goes to the MPAA and they rate it anything other than PG, it will be edited until they get the PG rating. (Which is what happened with Prince Caspian.)

So no, the above site is not accurate and rather sloppy :-s listing Skandar twice and Will and Anna above other actors in the movie.

Going to go ahead and close this thread. :)
