[Closed] Is simul-filming MN and SC still a possibility?

I think they should make them at the same time. If they make MN first, everyone will be confused. They should make SC and MN, but release SC first. It'll already be confusing! I mean, even if SC comes next, they'll jump back to Narnia's beginning and then go to the end, maybe even pausing to do HHB- more confusion when people see the older Pevensies again.

My opinion is that they should make MN into a prequel to LWW. After all, LWW is the one everybody knows and loves. Do SC for 'continuing the story' and advertise MN as the prequel, a light-hearted happy story that even non-LWW fans can see and that is very young child friendly. Then they should do LB in continuing the story. If they ever do HHB, it should pretty much be a stand alone. HHB has the story to sell well without being backed up by the name 'Narnia', I think.

Back on topic: But what about the option of just doing SC next? Even if there is that chance, I think they should go for two at a time or two VERY close together. They need to try to lower the time between movies! So far it has been about 2 1/2 years between them. Fans are growing up! If they were ten for the first one, they're fifteen, and will be seventeen 1/2 by the time SC comes out. Some of them might get too old for Narnia. Besides, even for die-hard or adult fans (who know you never get too old for Narnia :p ), they'll be more excited about a sequel if they hurry up. Right now there's no rush to get into VDT because you have 2 12 years to enjoy that before the next one comes along...

It would be great if both films were filmed at the same time because that way there would be less waiting time between films, and we'de be safe in the knowledge that another one was made after the first came out so there wouldn't be so much worry about 'wether the franchise will end now!' or not, and I have other reaons why I think the idea is good, but they have already been mentioned. However, I do see the drawbacks too, as well as the funding issues, the budget may be spread out beween both films and that would be BAD!!!
But over all i'm in favour of both at the same time! :)

I would love for them to film both MN abd SC at the same time. I think that SC should come out first though. But if they do film them at the same time or around the same time, MN will be first since they already have financing for it :(

I really want them to film SC and MN at the same time, but they probably wont :(

Whatever I said before Friday March 11 I'm going to have to say now, it will be extremely unlikely that there will be simul-filming of MN and SC. I think we will be relieved to hear if either get greenlit at all.

VDT was doing better than expected, then there was this earthquake/tsunami/nuclear meltdown, which not only stopped VDT's progress in its tracks, but also crippled a substantial part of Honshu, leaving that area in ruins. Even other areas on the island, down to Tokyo, itself, have been left without power. Not only would there be the physical damage done in the earthquake area, but surely there would be also a loss of takings and data from the previous week.

If it wasn't for the earthquake etc it is probable that VDT would have come close to equalling PC or even doing better. Now we wait to see if what VDT has achieved so far, is enough to warrant another film, in a sort of 'let's pick up the pieces' way.

I do not believe for a minute that the earthquake in Japan is going to affect the production's decisions about the future of Narnia movies. Things were already underway behind the scenes prior to the film even being released in Japan, which leads me to believe they hit their target (whatever that was) without Japan's help. Everything else after that was just profit.
