Narnia mostly appears when the children need an escape, but I feel as though it teaches them to not need one. For example, in LWW the children were feeling lonely and their family was broken. In the end, they learned to be a family even with all the issues caused by the war and they grew up. In VDT, the Pevensies didn't want to spend time with that "record stinker Eustace", but then he learned how to be a decent person in Narnia so when they came back, (you can assume) the Pevensies didn't mind spending time with him. As much.
