If Warner Bros. can move along with a sequel to Yogi Bear as they just announced, it would be insulting and downright depressing if Fox let Narnia fall by the wayside.
Not to be a bearer of bad news, but apparently Tron Legacy, a competition piece to VDT is getting a sequel. What makes me sad is Legacy's budget was $170 million, $20 million larger than VDT, made only $400 million worldwide, less than VDT, and gets a TV series and a sequel. The ratio confuses me a lot. Then again, Disney probably made plenty of money off of good merchandising, and probably will in the future.
Come on Walden Media/20th Century Fox, it is humiliating that Yogi Bear is getting a very unnecessary sequel to a movie nobody really remembers. And Tron Legacy has a higher budget than VDT, then made less, and gets another sequel. Well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

I don't think many people are going to remember The Voyage of the Dawn Treader either (except for Narnia fans ).
Right now I have a strong feeling that the franchise is over.
I don't know if we know enough to tell whether the Narnia films stop here or go on, but for now, I feel like they're having a ten-minute (or year) recession. All we know at the moment that Walden and Fox are still figuring out which movie should be next. This could be a good time for Walden to figure out the importance of creating these adaptions, and try to make this film one that outshines the others because it's not trying to be like the others made before it. Or, it could be a bad thing as they end up missing the mark of making a great film and great adaption, and we get another case like VDT. We just can't know right now what's happening.
Not many movies are remembered, but if they still were sucessful enough, the movie makers will keep bringing out more in hopes of getting more money and sucess. Of course, that's not always the case, but I don't want Walden and Fox to start Narnia 4 without thinking it through. If there's one slight chance that this will bring the glory and quality back to the movies, it's worth it.
