I do like your script Lucy of Narnia. But I actually prefer they stick to calling each other by their last names....I don't remember Last Battle very well but isn't there some part in LB where they actually call each other by their first names? I think it'd be best to hold off until they make the LB (hopefully they will) for that.
BTW is the VDT script writing thread still viewable somewhere on the forum? I'd like to read it as I haven't been here for two years.

I like Bkey's alot... Very moving..
Thanks guys! And Kudos to FriendofNarnia2 and Lucy of Narnia. FoN2, I really like your dialogue, and just from that one scene you can already see the dynamic and relationships between the three characters. LoN, I like how you added some depth to Jill’s character with her self-consciousness, and you did it in a subtle, non-blatant way, very nice.
I’m going to post the few short scenes I wrote that take pick up immediately where my last post left off. I’ve strayed from the book again, moreso this time. I want to keep the audience in suspense, and not reveal that the LotGK is evil, or who Rilian is, until near the end of the movie. This requires some reworking of Rilian’s departure. And I of course had to add a little Hollywood action. I also have to deal with the issue of “showing, not telling” and not taking up too much time with this back story, as I feel it’s important to get to Eustace and Jill and the main narrative as soon as possible. Hope you enjoy.
EXT. DARK FORST – CONTINUOUS
Drinian runs through the forest, Rilian nowhere in sight.
DRINIAN
Rilian! Rilian!
He pauses for a breath. Two TELMARINE LORDS and a FAUN approach from behind.
FAUN
He’s nowhere to be found, my Lord.
DRINIAN
We’re not going back without that boy.
Begins running again.
DRINIAN
Rilian!
EXT. CLEARING - DUSK
A search party, two dozen strong, has formed. Young Thereon is among them, holding a torch. Most in the group are armed with swords and daggers, others carry torches. A gruff soldier, PORTHOS, 30s, large horn hanging from neck, barks orders.
PORTHOS
We split up, cover every inch of land in that forest. When you hear my signal it means the Prince been found. Don't come back until you hear it.
EXT. DARK FOREST - CONTINUOUS
Drinian, walking alone, notices something in the distance.
DRINIAN
Rilian! Is that you?
Silence.
Vines from the surrounding trees begin to quickly creep towards Drinian. A vine wraps around his leg, pulling him to the ground. He cuts it with his sword, but as he turns sees dozens more coming straight at him.
DRINIAN
These woods are cursed.
Swings his sword violently, cutting the vines as they reach him. They are too much, overpowering him. His sword is knocked to the ground as the vines wrap around his limbs.
DRINIAN
Help! Help!
From behind him, a flame. The vines scream and let go of Drinian. Thereon appears, swinging his torch.
THEREON
In the name of Aslan, be gone!
The vines whither away. Drinian looks at the boy in surprise.
THEREON
I've explored these woods enough to know the horrors that dwell here.
He points to the ground.
THEREON
Look.
Rilian's dagger lays alone.
DRINIAN
He's gone.
Okay, I'll do one for the opening scene of the film (note, this is if they decide to show Rillian and LotGK before the kids meet them).
20th Century Fox and Walden Media show their logos. The circle within the Walden logo then morphs into a green eye of a woman.
-we cut to a shot of the Narnians parading out of cair paravel. Centaurs lead the way while Caspian, Lilliandill, and Rillian ride behind. They are all happy and laughing. The camera then cuts back to the green eye that is watching the Narnians.
We then cut to the Narnians partying at the fountain. Rillian, the fauns and dryads are dancing around a fire while Caspian and Lilliandil are scene dancing around the humans. Suddenly, Caspian and Lilliandil bump into another couple.
Lilliandil (trying to hold back a laugh): Sorry.
Caspian then pulls Lilliandil back to him and they resume dancing.
Rillian smiles at his parents and grabs the hands of a dryad and a faun as they begin to dance around in a circle.
-the camera spins around, giving the audience the feeling of dancing in circles like Rillian. The camera then begins to slow down and zooms in on the forrest nearby. Rillian's smile fades and he peers into the woods. Almost hidden behind the trees is a young woman dressed in a green cloak. A dark green hood conceils most of her face, but her eyes can be seen. The camera cuts to Rillian's eyes and then back to the eyes of the woman in the green cloak. The woman's green eyese make it clear to the audience that she is the one that was spying on the Narnians. The camera cuts back to Rillian's face. We then see the cloaked lady signal Rillain to follow her with her hand. Rillain turns his head back to his parents to see if they are watching him. We see Caspian and Lilliandil still completly focused on one another. Rillian then turns his head back to the Lady who walks out of sight behind the trees. Not wanting to loose her, he chases after her into the dark woods.
Cut back to Caspian and Lilliandil.
Lilliandil (out of breath): "I havent had so much fun in months!"
Caspian: "You seem a bit tired."
Lillaindil: "I'll be fine, I just need a little rest. I think I'll go lay down. "
Caspian (smiling). "Well don't rest too long. You don't want to miss our son's birthday party."
Lilliandil smiles: "I won't".
She then kisses him and walks off into a nearby meadow. She lays down in a field of white daisies and closes her eyes.
The camera cuts back to Rillian who has apparently lost the woman.
Rillian: "Where are you?"
He spins around (as does the camera) looking around the woods to see if he can find her.
Cut back to Lilliandil-
Emerging from the bushes is a large green snake. It gazes at Lilliandil and slowly slithers toward her. Lilliandil is still sleeping peacefully with a smile on her face. The snake then slithers over Lilliandil's body and rubs it's nose against Lilliandil's neck. Lilliandil begins to move.
Lilliandil (waking up): "Caspian, is that you?"
She opens her eyes. The camera then cuts to the face of the serpant looking down at her. Lilliandil lets out a horrified scream.
We cut back to Rillian who hears the scream of his mother.
Rillian: "Mother?"
We then cut to Caspian. He hears another loud scream. He then draw his sword and runs to find Lilliandil. He runs past the trees into the meadow. He sees the serpant slithering away. Rather then chase the serpant he runs to Lilliandil's side. She has a dark, bruised, bite marks on her neck. Lilliandil screams and shakes violently. Caspian puts his hands on her to restrain her.
Lilliandil: "CASPIAN! CASPIAN!"
Caspian: "It's okay, I'm here!"
Lilliandil then shrieks out in pain. Her eyes roll back to white and she grabs Caspian's hair.
Lilliandil: "Don't...let...her...ta-"
Lilliandil then stops shaking and falls back to the ground. Dead. Caspian takes her hand and shakes it.
Caspian: "Lilliandil...my love..."
He keeps shaking her hand.
Caspian: "Lilliandil! No...you can't die...not like this."
The camera cuts back to Lilliandil's face. She has a frozen look of horror on her. Caspian then bursts into tears. He pulls her body close and hugs it. Rillian then bursts through the trees.
Rillian: "Mother!"
Rillian notices his father cradling his mother's body. His face of worry turns to one of sadness and shock. Tears begin to form in his eyes. He runs to his parents.
Rillian: "What Happened? Mother!"
Caspian: "It's too late, my son. She's gone."
Rillian: "NO! No, she can't be dead! Mother!" He grabs his mom's lifeless body and then looks at her face, and realises that she is in fact dead. He then screams in anger.
The camera then cuts to the serpant slithering behind the left side of a tree. Then, from the right side of the tree emerges the cloaked woman. We see the green eye once again, staring at Rillian and his father mourning over Lilliandil's dead body. The camera then cuts to her red lips, as they form a cruel smile.
The screen then goes black. And then the title "The Chronciles of Narnia: The Silver Chair" appears.
Winter Is Coming
Here's a few scenes from the stay at Harfang. It's kind of long, but I hope you all enjoy it!
Eustace, Jill, and Puddleglum are in Jill's room and realize that they must figure out a way to escape from the castle without looking suspicious
Puddleglum – (looking at how high the doorknob was in the room) I'd say more likely than not, we'll never even get out of this room.
Eustace – Maybe if I get on your shoulders...
Eustace climbs on Puddleglum's shoulders and is frantically trying to reach the doorknob (he's so close), when suddenly a giant nurse comes bustling into the room, knocking them down behind the door as it swings open.
Giant Nurse – Hello Precious Poppett! How would you like to see the Hunting Party off? They are in the courtyard right now.
Jill – Oh...um yes! Yes please! I'd love to see them off with you!
Giant Nurse – Aww! (she picks up Jill like she is a little child and carries her out of the room)
As the door is about to close, Puddleglum and Eustace manage to slip out of the room into a great hallway.
They start walking down the hallway. They come upon a large doorway on one side of the hall that leads into a dining room where a dozen giants are eating and laughing heartily. Eustace and Puddleglum are determined to pass the open doorway (which was quite large for people of their size), without getting noticed.
Puddleglum – Now you must act natural. Just do as I do.
He begins to stoll past the open doorway in an attempt to pass the opening without being noticed. Unfortunately is waking in a most awkward and obvious way, and although he thought he was crossing the opening inconspicuously, the truth is that nearly all the giants saw him at once.
Giant – Look! It's our little froggy friend.
Puddleglum – Hello! (chuckles nervously)
Giant – (to the other giants) Looks like froggy needs a little food! Come on in and have a seat!
Puddleglum walks into the room in a very humorous way (he is trying to appear young and childish), and climbs up to sit with the giants at the table. Meanwhile Eustace is still on the other side of the wall. He notices a doorway on the other side of the hall that leads into a kitchen. While the giants are distracted with Puddleglum he creeps into the kitchen.
As he enters the kitchen he notices a large giantess sleeping on a chair with her feet resting on a table. She is snoring loudly. Suddenly she hits a large book, causing it to fly off the table and land on the floor, nearly hitting Eustace. Surprising the noise does not wake up the giantess.
Eustace looks down at the book and reads the first entry on the page that the book opens to.
MAN: This elegant little biped has long been valued as a delicacy. It forms a traditional part of the Autumn Feast.
Eustace then looks down and reads the next entry in horror.
MARSH-WIGGLE: Some authorities reject this animal altogether as unfit for giants consumption because of its stringy consistency and muddy flavor. The flavor can, however, be great reduced if -
Eustace cannot read anymore, he runs back to the doorway and peers into the room where Puddleglum and the Giants are.
cut to the giants at the table with the Marshwiggle
Giant 1– So, tell us your name again froggy legs.
Puddleglum – Puddleglum.
Giant 2 – Sounds kind of, muddy. (starts laughing)
Giant 1 – Take another bite there Puddleglum. Nothing like some good venison to put a few more pounds on that belly! (All the giants laugh)
Puddleglum notices Eustace, who is frantically motioning for him.
Giant 2 – (talking to the giants) Yeah, this sure is some nice meat right here. You know it's funny, because right before I killed the fellow he said, “Don't eat me! I'm not a good at all!” Well, we know we can never trust those deer, right boys? (All the giants agree)
Puddleglum had been distracted by Eustace, but when he heard the last part about the talking deer, his face turned a sickly green. He pushed the plate away.
Giant 2 – Not hungry?
Puddleglum – I fear I've lost my appetite. Thank you kind giants for your hospitality, but I really should be getting back to my room.
Puddleglum hurries off the table as quickly as possible, and hastily heads for the door.
Eustace is waiting for him at the doorway
Eustace – We must find Jill and get out of here immediately!
Cut to Jill and the Giantess in the courtyard seeing the giants off on their hunting party.

bkey and Josh, I really like your idea of making Rilian young when he is taken by the Lady of the Green Kirtle. I would have no problems if they did that and it might work really well on-screen.
Another thought I had was that the movie could open with a stylized montage (stained glass, a storybook or like the engravings in Aslan's How), showing the story of Rilian that the children are told in the Parliament of Owls. This would be another way of showing Rilian's story, but keeping the audience unaware of his actual appearance. There won't be any dialouge, just a musical score and, maybe, opening credits. I think it was also be fitting for a Narnia movie, because of it's Narnia's mythic quality.
Wow, all these are great! I assume that you guys don't mind about the PG-13 stuff, because a lot of this stuff sounds PG-13 (Lilliandil shaking as she dies). I would do this, but I can't find my copy of SC right now, and I don't want to write a script based off of memory! I also can't find my copies of MN and LB, and those three are the three that I want to read the most right now. Oh well. But again, I loved all of those scenes!
Lets go SC!
My opinion on PG vs. PG-13, or whatever rating when it comes to writing is to not write with a particular rating in mind. Don't hold back and tell the story that needs to be told as you see it. If you try to censor yourself, you're only stifling your creativity. The director and editors are the ones who get to figure out how to translate what's written into something that's suitable for the desired rating.
Josh, excellent scene. Very dramatic, and your writing style is very clear and visual. I felt like I wasn't reading a script but watching the movie in my mind. Great writing. Also, I hope you don't mind that I borrowed your idea of making Rilian younger when he's abducted. That's the best way I've seen to make that part of the story translate to the screen.
Wow, you all are so talented!
Reepicheep775, I think the idea of having a stylized montage as the opening back story is brilliant!
FriendofNarnia2, it's interesting how you worked those scenes from the book into one inter-cut scene. That would work great for the movie! Your first scene, the disagreement, is good as well. The foreshadowing in Puddleglum's lines is really well done!
Josh, I really like the way you worked in the Mysterious Lady in Green. Particularly how Rillian sees her before Lilliandil's death, and how she morphs just out of our sight. I do think that Caspian's lines are a little bit over-stated (faintly melodramatic) No offense, I hope! It's not like I could write it better.
The addition of dangerous enchantments left behind by LotGK to halt the searchers is great, bkey! And the searching scene has a very desperate feel to it. The first part of your script is good as well - the adjustment of Rillian's age went well, and I like his chasing the Serpent. Lilliandil's death is very sad and well written. I like that you gave Trumpkin a specific part.
Lucy of Narnia, I think you have a good point about changing the location of their talk; by all means, let the film makers do that! The argument you wrote is very believable, but I would prefer that they didn't become quite so reconciled at the end of it - I don't think they got along that well right at the beginning.
I'd like to write a scene or two eventually (not that it would be up to what everyone has already done!). Mostly for fun! But no time for it at the moment.

We do have some interesting ideas for SC here. Ok, here is my idea for a beginning to SC:....
Tavros, Rynelf and Rhince are sitting on some boxes on the quay near Cair Paravel, enjoying some light refreshments.
Rynelf: That is the end of the unloading. I'm glad to be home again.
Rhince: Yes, but I'll need to go back to the Lone Islands to be with Gael and Elaine. What do you think of our new Queen Caspian has brought with him?
Rynelf: Lilliandil? She is gorgeous! But too shiny for my taste. The main problem is, when will this baby arrive? And will she be willing and able to keep Caspian here at home in Narnia? Caspian didn't seem all that happy going home without Reepicheep and our other passengers, and I'm not at all sure that he won't want to return to the East where we left them. Lilliandil did him and us a real favour by agreeing to come back to Narnia and to be his Queen. It cheered him up immensely.
Tavros: Of course the baby will come soon. It will be a strong and healthy bobby. We Minotaurs know these things.
Some bustle around the castle. Fireworks go up. Caspian appears on the balcony with Lilliandil holding their new-born baby.
Tavros: Told you so!
A snake hiding inside another box slides out of it, then in and out of sight. Tavros, Rynelf and Rhince do not notice its passage away from the docks. The snake finally gets off the quay and makes its way inland.
Cut to a nice May morning at Cair Paravell. Lilliandil and Caspian are breakfasting on a terrace.
Lilliandil: Oh Caspian, Rilian was saying last night that if the weather remains so lovely, could we all go out on a picnic today? Would you like to come with us? You have been working so hard lately that it would be so lovely if you would take a holiday and enjoy yourself for a bit.
Caspian: My darling Lilliandil! I am so very sorry. There is simply too much to do for me to take time off working. There is the Calormen ambassador to see. They weren't very happy when we put a stop to the slave trade in the Lone Islands, all those years ago, and it has taken a lot of effort to ensure it doesn't get started up again.
Lilliandil (with disappointment): Very well, Rilian and I will go on the picnic anyway. We'll see you tonight. She leaves the terrace.
Scene changes to a forest glade. Lilliandil is asleep on a sunlit bank of grass. Nearby a group of Narnians are dancing or socialising. A snake draws near, the same snake that was at the Cair Paravel quay. The snake rears and bites Lilliandil who rouses, recognises the snake and screams.
Everyone is on the alert. One gentleman chases after the snake sliding away. Others attempt to render assistance to Lilliandil.
Lilliandil: Enemy...old foe....snake...Aagh! She passes away.
Scene changes again.
Caspian has been called to the door. A sad procession of picnickers bring to his horrified gaze the body of Lilliandil. One young man with his face buried in his hands is being comforted by Lord Drinian....
Scene switches to Experiment House....
Rynelf: Lilliandil? She is gorgeous! But too shiny for my taste.
LOL!

I do like your script Lucy of Narnia. I think it'd be best to hold off until they make the LB (hopefully they will) for that.
I know...I just wish they'd call each other by their first names, haha. I wonder how the film-makers will do it...probably stick to the book? I'm sure I'll get used to it if they do.
Lucy of Narnia, I think you have a good point about changing the location of their talk; by all means, let the film makers do that! The argument you wrote is very believable, but I would prefer that they didn't become quite so reconciled at the end of it - I don't think they got along that well right at the beginning.
Yeah, come to think of it...course you know how easy it is to forgive, then get angry again later! After all, later they're mad for different reasons, like Jill not getting to have the bow, etc. I think it works, just my opinion. I understand what you mean, though.
Love everyone's scripts! Especially love the vines grabbing Drinian, Puddleglum w/ the giants , LotGK transforming behind a tree, and baby Rillian's birth fireworks (brings back PC!)! So, in short- love them all!
*edit* Here's a new scene!!
(Once again they should change things, this time so that Jill and Eustace have different wigwams. Or if there’s only one, maybe Eustace and Puddleglum sleep outside?)
Jill stumbles out of her wigwam; Eustace is outside, looking off in the distance. Jill has obviously only just gotten up; her hair is ruffled and her clothes are wrinkled. One cheek is pink, as though she was sleeping on it. She’s still kind of out of it. Eustace glances back at her when he hears her, then looks away again.
Jill: What are you looking at?
Eustace: That…thing. It’s…it’s fishing or something.
Jill looks where Eustace pointed.
Jill: (clearly showing off) Oh, that’s the marsh-wiggle, isn’t it?
Eustace: Yeah, whatever.
Jill blushes; there she went again, showing off. Silence.
Jill (obviously trying to patch things up): What was its name again?
Eustace (frowning): I don’t know….(looks at her) you know, don’t you?
Jill: Uh… (of course she does, but can’t say so)
Eustace laughs.
Eustace: I say, Pole- Jill…I don’t mind it if you slip up. It’s just…nobody like a show-off.
He was being perfectly sincere and kind, but Jill still looks away. Eustace has a look on his face “what do I do now?”, then shakes his head and looks at Puddleglum again.
Eustace: Hey, it’s seen us. It’s coming this way!
Both children are slightly nervous. Puddleglum approaches them, looking droll and sorrowful as ever.
Jill: H-hello.
Puddleglum: Eh?
Jill can’t say anything else.
Eustace: Uh…good day to you…
Puddleglum fixes his hat.
Puddleglum: Oh, I wouldn’t say that, m-boy. (Looks at a perfectly clear, sunny sky) Might rain at any moment.
Eustace looks at Jill and shakes head “he’s crazy!”, half-laughing. Jill smiles, biting her lip to hold back a laugh.
Eustace: Yes, well…were you fishing out there?
Puddleglum: Yes, but I didn’t catch much, I shouldn’t wonder.
He has a bucket full of eels.
Eustace rolls his eyes at Jill.
Jill: I’d say you caught plenty.
Puddleglum looks oddly at her, studying her face almost.
Puddleglum: Mm? Well, we’ll have enough, perhaps. But these eels…they don’t sit too well with little girls.
Jill: Well…perhaps not, but I am rather hungry.
Puddleglum: mm…(you can tell that he doesn’t like when people look on the bright side and almost undo his pessimism)
Eustace: (to Jill) Haven’t we forgotten ourselves? (to Puddleglum) I’m Eustace. This here’s Jill Pole.
Puddleglum: Mm, and I’m Puddleglum. What do you think of my name, boy? Be honest. It won’t hurt me when you tell me you don’t like it. I wouldn’t expect anyone to like a name like mine.
Jill can no longer hold back her laughter.
Puddleglum: Mm…little girl, why don’t you fetch the firewood? That’s sober you up a bit. Sure to be wet, or rotted, or stolen, or termite-ridden…
Jill runs of, laughing. Eustace is almost coughing as he tries not to laugh; a look from Puddleglum sobers him.
Puddleglum: Mm, my boy, why don’t you fetch the tinder-box from my wigwam? If the woods dry, and not stolen, and not termite-ridden-
Eustace: Yes, well?
Puddleglum: Well, you can start the fire. Not that it will work, mind you. Or keep going; the wind might snuff it out.
Eustace: (half to himself) I say, you sure do have a way of looking on the dark side of things…
Puddleglum: I try. I’m a disgrace to my kinsmen, but I try. “Puddleglum, sober down”, they say. Well, if nothing else, this hopeless trip will! (walking off) Find the lost Prince (who probably doesn’t exist) in a land filled with giants (we’ll be their dinner, no doubt) , in the freezing cold of winter...
Eustace (shaking head, to himself): He’s hopeless.
He walks off to find the tinder-box)
I love Puddleglum's attitude, if I do say so myself.

You suck a lollipop, and you sing a song. Get it right, Jo!
That was lovely Lucy of Narnia. I could have almost imagined Eustace saying that he has experience starting fires LOL. Funny when he mumbles about Puddleglum's glass half empty outlook (that reminds me of someone we know from VDT). I really wish they would make this movie soon and consider the fans' input.

Great Transformations-Eustace Scrubb
Well done everyone! It appears we've all had a similar idea, starting in Narnia
Forgive me if this is unlike the book in places as it's been forever since I've read SC. Also forgive my lack of knowledge of proper script format, I've only written one other. (What do they teach us in school's these days?! ) I'll post an edited version after I've reread the book.
Anyway here's my interpretation of the opening sequence...
Fox logo and Walden logo fade into a scene of the castle entrance to the courtyard. We see from above King Caspian and Queen Lilliandil. Caspian gives Lilliandil a rose, she smells it and smiles. We then see a faun who enters and bows and says something although we don’t hear what. Caspian nods then gives his queen a kiss on the cheek, and a few words are exchanged she smiles and gives him a kiss back.
Caspian and the Faun exits.
Lilliandil enters the courtyard humming as she walks she sniffs the flowers as she passes. She comes to a bench and lays down to take a nap. The camera pans over to one of the bushes where we see a green serpent slither toward the bench.
Scene cuts to Cair Paraval in the dining hall. Caspian, Rilian, Drinian, Tavros, Trumpkin, Trufflehunter, and various others are there laughing and having a good conversation.
CASPIAN: So tell me, how was the camping trip?
TRUMPKIN: Ah it was splendid your majesty. A perfect night, the stars where burning vibrantly, and there was a nice breeze. Not even a hint of rain.
TRUFFLEHUNTER: It’s a shame you could not join us your majesty.
RILIAN: Indeed. Trufflehunter taught me how to make that soup of his…
TRUMPKIN: And may I add that your majesty’s son is marvelous cook.
RILLIAN (humbly): Well now, I’m not…
TRUFLEHUNTER: Oh yes you are. Queen Lilliandil would be most pleased if she had a taste of that soup. I daresay you even beat out me…
CASPIAN (concerned): Speaking of which, have you seen your mother at all today, Rilian? Last I saw her she said she was going to take a small nap in the courtyard, I figured she would have joined us by now…
RILIAN: No, but if it pleases you, Father, I shall go look for her.
(Caspian nods)
TRUMPKIN: I shall join you.
TRUFFLEHUNTER: So shall I…
Trumpkin, Trufflehunter, and Rilian exit. They walk to the courtyard conversing joyously as they go, then they reach the door…
All gasp.
RILIAN (whispers): No…
The camera then focuses near the bench on a hand hanging limply (the rest of the body is of screen). It is pale and has to fang marks.
Trufflehunter walks over slowly sniffs the hand and nods his head sadly.
TRUMPKIN (to Rilian): I’m sorry your majesty…
We now see Rilian’s face, tears stream down his eyes, and he nods his head in disbelief.
RILIAN (louder): No!
Rilian abruptly turns and exits and rushes away although not toward the dining hall.
TRUFFLEHUNTER (Shouting): Prince Rilian! (To Trumpkin) Find King Caspian…
TRUPMKIN rushes exits toward the dining hall. TRUFFLEHUNTER chases after Rilian.
TRUFFLEHUNTER: Rilian! Where are you going?
RILIAN (shouting behind him): To find the beast and avenge my mother!
TRUFFLEHUNTER: But your majesty!
They pass the armory; Rilian grabs his sword, shield, and crossbow.
TRUFFLEHUNTER: Rilian think sensibly, rashness and revenge don’t mix well… Rilian!
They run into the stable. Rilian begins to prepare Destrier.
TRUFFLEHUNTER: Please your majesty…
RILIAN: No fear Trufflehunter, I’ll comeback.
TRUFFLEHUNTER (pleading): But you don’t even know where the serpent is…
Rilian ignores him.
TRUFFLEHUNTER: At least, wait for the guards and bring them with you…
RILIAN (annoyed): The longer I wait the more likely it is to get away…
TRUFFLEHUNTER: But, please, I beg of you… I don’t like this.
Rilian mounts and gallops off. Trufflehunter runs after him.
TRUFFLEHUNTER: No lad!
They exit the castle Rilian gallops across the beach, Trufflehunter follows losing ground. A bell is heard repeating one solemn and sad note from within the castle.
Rilian enters the forest… Trufflehunter enters some distance behind him. Night has fallen on Narnia.
TRUFFLEHUNTER: Please… Your Majesty! Something’s not right…
The beginning credit sequence starts…
Rilian and Destrier leap over a fallen tree and out of sight. Trufflehunter gets caught in some thorns and can follow no longer…
TRUFFLEHUNTER: Prince Rilian!
Rilian gallops on, riding all night across Narnia, and into the wild lands. As he enters the moors the title appears… with The Silver Chair in silver letters… Dawn begins to approach as he enters another forest. Destrier is suddenly spooked…
