I offer chocolate filled jelly donuts and ice cream to those folks badly stressed - chocolate has a mild sedative effect. ;))

And I don't like chocolate so I don't even get anything for my stress! :((

Aww. Perhaps butterscotch? Mmm. Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia ice cream? I am flexible with requests.

*perks up at the offer of other kinds of ice cream* Do you have Kemps/Pillsbury's Cake and Ice cream? Or Ben and Jerry's Maple Blondie? Otherwise, vanilla or strawberry are good.

It is going to be a long six months. ;)) Should be interesting here when the trailer hits.

Just keep the ice cream coming. ;)) Yes, it will be interesting.

... and I certainly have a good feeling about it. :) I am going with what has been seen so far by some folks (Tirian, Paul Martin, Kristi - Admins of Narnia Fan sites) I know very well. Of all those people, Kristi would not have held back if she thought it was not looking good. It will be a good movie - perhaps the best yet.

I hope you're right. I know you know these people, and I don't so you probably are right but I have serious trust issues, especially when it comes to Narnia (I have strong purist tendencies.). I do know that if I end up agreeing with them about VDT, I will trust them more for SC. I'm hardly followed the first two movies before they came out. I rarely go to the movies, see ads for movies, see movie posters, so I'm really unsure how all of these things work. I'm sure I'll be better when SC comes out and by the time LB comes I should be used to how things work. ;))

When I couldn't get NarniaWeb to load last night, I thought some huge news item must have been reported - i.e. trailer. 8-}
8-| My imagination! Sigh...

After riding the roller coaster of everyone else's comments, I have discovered that my own feelings are rather ambivalent.

- I do think those are new photos of Peter and Susan. I understand the reasons behind including them on the spread and don't mind...

- Yet I dislike Jadis on it. But I assume she's there for much the same reasons?

- Lucy and Caspian look worse then on the Cannes banner, and Reep is so very
overused.

- Eustace and Edmund look better, though I still don't like the way Ed is holding Rhindon.

- Ramda looks so young! :- Probably more so than in the actual movie.
I'm quite sure that's her and not MLGael, though. Nice and simple costume, and it's good to see her at all. But where is Ramandu?! /:)

- Chief Dufflepud appears fiercer then I would like... Again, probably hyperbole.

I'm not really feeling a lot of emotion either way about this one. It's a good way to show not-so-huge fans that Narnia is back to it's usual self, and has one or two interesting points for us big fans - Ramda and the Chief.

I think my hatred has cooled a little, but I still don't like it. And I refuse to rationalize the inclusion of Peter, Susan, and the WW. It's dishonest and manipulative. The non-readers are going to see it and expect the three of them to have a major part in the movie and are going to be upset when they realize it isn't the case. If this is any example of the type of promotion Fox will use, expect manipulative trailers similar to the Bridge to Terebithia trailers that made everyone think it was a fantasy movie.

Mod input needed! Hey guys, so I actually got to see this style display in person as well. I don't think there's anything different about it and uh I didn't get to take that many pictures of it because I was in the lobby without a ticket JUST for the display (the usher told me to make it quick so she wouldn't get in trouble). Can I post those in this thread?

Agreed! I'm not as much of a book purist, but I'm REALLY new to film marketing. I watched LWW twice on network TV, and PC on YouTube [ :p ]. So I'm late to all this! I do remember a giant poster for LWW in a Christian bookstore a few months before the premiere, but I don't remember it attracting me. I rarely go to theaters anyway.

@Pattertwig: love the siggie. :p

I really liked the Aslan/Reepicheep poster for its originality and classic simplicity. I loved the colors as well. I want a copy for myself. And I want more posters like it--for Edmund, Eustace, Lucy, Ramandu's daughter, etc. :) This 3-D cardboard, in contrast, is too busy for me. We are getting a photo of it, which isn't the same. But the colors and faces seem washed out. I want more character posters! :-s

I like the prominent placing of Lucy. She always seemed to have the strongest connection to Aslan in the books, and the scene at the end of VDT highlights that connection and reveals a key theme of the books. So it seems fitting to me.

Well said! :) I liked Lucy's face on the Cannes banner as well. Still, I liked both it and the teaser poster better than this thing. /:)

I also don't really think Skandar and Georgie are good enough to carry this film.

What?! :-o Please explain yourself because I strongly disagree! As children, they carried LWW! /:)

I don't have a problem with you posting them, tenth. If they're a bit big, you could try uploading them to Photobucket or Imageshack and linking to them in the thread.

Thanks Bookwyrm! And yes they are 1000x750, unfortunately I couldn't get one of the display in its entirety and I missed a few other angles, but I did my best with a camera phone.

The White Witch (If that's her) Looks a bit too.. greenish or plasticy. Overall i don't like it. :(

That worked very well, tenthofthatname. These are an excellent addition to what we have seen so far! :D

Thank you very much, ceppault. I have opinions on the matter but I'll not discuss them here, or at all, probably.

And would be another topic to itself, of which I have repeatedly drifted off-topic in here.

I think my hatred has cooled a little, but I still don't like it. And I refuse to rationalize the inclusion of Peter, Susan, and the WW.

And I wont ask you to try. :)

The White Witch (If that's her) ...

We have confirmation from a reliable source. It is the White Witch. Greenish? Its a poster with a lot of blue. Throw in any yellow lighting on white surrounded by blue - like the White Witch - and we get green.

“Safe?” said Mr. Beaver; “don’t you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”

Very good pics. It's nice to be able to see everything in a little more detail. Still hate it though. ;)) Definitely looks like Susan is wearing an Earth dress, so it isn't a recycled PC shot. Peter's wearing some sort of suit or possibly a school uniform, so that's probably from Earth too. But I guess that's not really a surprise since I don't think even the most cynical of us seriously thought they'd be sailing on the DT too. ;))

In tenth's pictures, the WW doesn't look that green to me. I really really don't think they would be foolish enough to even consider going there. Include the LotGK and her giant soul-eating snake, I can see that, but not making her be the reincarnated Jadis.

@tenth: thanks for the pics! B-)

Caspian: okay, the hair strand across his face is rather annoying. But I love his hair in general, and the beard. He looks so kingly. :)

Peter and Susan: up close, they don't look quite the same as they did in PC. They're both slightly older and even their clothes aren't the same. Susan's outfit is rather simple, with buttons and a tree/leaf-shaped broach of sorts. And Peter looks like he's headed for university, or something. :-

I wish you could have gotten a close-up of Lucy, Edmund, and Eustace.

Thanks, ceppault. I felt mixed on the minotaur and had to see him for myself, well along with just being able to see the whole display! Up close like that I don't think he looks as terrible.

Haha Bookwyrm I did get the impression more pictures would only make the people who like it happier and the people who don't like it have more fuel for the fire

While I was there a few groups of people were getting their picture taken behind the helm, so the display definitely catches peoples' eyes. Also this was at a United Artists Theatre just outside of Los Angeles.

Aaaand 220chrisTian, I am hoping to visit the display again and will have an actual camera on me. I know I failed in getting the kids who are actually on the ship :((

ok I have a theory. Of course the producers are about 1 1/2 months too late, but I bet all these posters are some kind of prank. Just to rile us up. Or not. Gosh I'm so upset right now :( .

I don't know if we've really had BAD news about this. I see no problem with Peter and Susan having an Earth cameo so that the audience can see what has happened to them. As for the White Witch, I'm upset about it, but apparently it's going to be a very small dream sequence scene. I don't think either of these things are going to change the actual story plot.

Want some ice cream, Glenstorm the Great? Seems to be what everybody's eating around this thread. :D
