And what was their response throughout the movie? For me, the theater was 4/5ths full and they seemed to like it. I heard some tears being stiffled at the end. :D

The cinema was about 2/3rds full, maybe more. I saw the 2-D version on December 9th, 8:30pm session. Overall, it sounded like the audience found it favourable. VDT opened here (in Australia) on December 2nd.

I saw it at 3:15 December 11th, in 2D, and if the theater was half full that would be generous.

Note, spoilers. :)
Sadly, other than us there were only four other groups of people, so maybe 25 or so people in the theater. There weren't many laughs or anything as far as I heard. One other person might have laughed during the "No!" sequence, and I think there was some laughter during the Eustace "scared to guard" sequence.

The first time I saw it was Saturday night, it was about 1/3 full.
The second time was the Matinee on Sunday it was about 1/4 full.
But seeing as it is a small theater in a tiny town I wasn't that disappointed.

The response from what I heard was positive, both times there was a lot of laughing at the humor, but since it wasn't packed it was hard to judge the general response to the movie. But on the second time I heard someone say behind me say at the end that it was very good, and a few kid in the theater were clapping :)

I went to the midnight showing the 10th. There were only about 30 people in there, but they were into it. I heard laughter at some bits, and they were definitely sniffling at the end.

I've seen it twice, and more than half of the theatre is filled each time. :D (I'm in Indonesia, by the way).

I saw it at a 7:30 showing on the 10th in 2D and it was about 3/4 full... the lady at the ticket booth actually told me that if I was watching it with a group (because I got there an hour early :D) I should hurry and buy their tickets because they sold half of the tickets for that theater already

VDT seems to be doing much better overseas than in the US. It hasn't even been released in every country yet.

This morning at 11AM- around 20-25 people. It was the regular version.

This afternoon at 4:15PM- around 20 people. This was the 3D version.

Other rooms I counted:

- 12PM (not sure which version)- around 20 people.
- 3:45 3D- 15 people
- 4:45 3D- 15 people
- 6:00 regular- 40 people

Which is pretty good considering the fact that it was raining and that it was Sunday so close to Christmas.

I've seen it twice. First time was Friday at 2:00pm. There were only about 20 people in that one, but I saw it again today (Sunday) at 1:30pm and I would estimate the theater was about 2/3 full. But this is El Paso and full house showing aren't common around here. I plan to see it at least two more times this week, but until schools let out in another week, I don't expect many more to show in the day time showings. When I go, I am going for first showing in the day.

Be watching for the release of my spiritual warfare novel under a new title: "Call to Arms" by OakTara Publishing. A sequel (title TBD) will shortly follow.

I've seen it twice...

Midnight Showing, Big town, 3D
I'm horrible at numbers, but my dad estimates at least 50 people. Good response to the humor. One guy clapped and "whoo-hooed" at the end.

Saturday Evening, Small town, 2D
Again, I'm horrible at numbers... but there seemed to be more people there than before, but that was probably because the theater was smaller. I'd say... I don't know... 30 ish people? Could be more though since I thought there were only 25 at the midnight showing 8-} . This crowd was responsive to the humor as well, though perhaps not quite as much as the midnight showing.

"Oh telescope, keep an eye on my only hope,
Lest I blink and be swept off the narrow road.
Hercules, you've got nothing to say to me,
'Cause you're not the blinding light that I need.
For He is the saving grace of the Galaxies."

I live in a well-populated area. My sister and I went to a 3D showing on opening day. It was at 2:30. There were maybe eight other people in the theater, all middle-aged. The 2:30 showing meant that the kids (and teens) weren't out of school yet though.

They were kinda responsive, mostly not. A few chuckles. *rolls eyes* My sister and I were the loudest ones there. Of course.

I think there were about 45 people in it the first time i saw it it was around 7:00 and the second time there were about 30 and it was at 4;00. I am not quite sure of there reaction to it. I know I heard some laugh at the funny parts

First time: prescreening, it was packed. :p

Second time: December 11th, 12:45 pm showing. Theater felt almost empty. There were about 30-35 people there. It was a very quiet audience.
