More rumours are surfacing about the end of the franchise, suggesting the problem is that Walden is ending the series because of disappointing home disc sales. Personally, I can't help feeling that the franchise wouldn't be in this situation if they had made smarter adaptation and distribution decisions with PC and VDT . . . oh well.

This is over, Narniaweb might as well shut down.

As Louloudi mentioned above, there is much more to NarniaWeb then just the movies. ;) Members are what make the place run; as long as there are Narnia fans, there will be a NarniaWeb. Even if the movies are over.

^ You are completely right Miss Rosario. NarniaWeb will still exist even if the movies are over. There's lots of other stuff to chat about. Hope those rumours are all untrue and they'll announce something soon...even a status of...we're still thinking and talking about it would help! :((

I heard one rumor of what some poster said about talking to Douglas Gresham by email or something. I 100% don't believe it for one minute. I can't even find a contact to talk to Douglas. All I know is that if Fox or Walden is wanting to keep their news about these films private at the moment no one, not even Douglas Gresham is allowed to give out just anyone who is complete stranger that sort of info.

All i do know is that I'll still come on here if they do decide to quit making these films. I'll soon be a director and I'll dedicate 100% in these stories and make sure to adapt them at their very best. Narnia Lives Forever!!!

Well I hope we'll see a good one on the way within a year...

Past experience suggests 10-15 years...

Whatever happens I just hope we fans can keep NW going... at least until the next film comes along. And don't worry somebody someday will make one. (But please- please- can it be one that hasn't been filmed yet? ;;) )

I actually promised myself a month ago that I wouldn't come on here until August 1st. Seeing as I broke that promise and seeing that it is almost August I would have thought we would get some news about the next Narnia film by now. :(

We haven't gotten any news in July at all. I'm hoping from now to August that we get something.

Frankly, I think that if this series doesn't go through, there won't be another one. This was done so well, I don't know why someone would think that making another would go through any better. I mean, you can't really get any more professional . . .
I'm just going to sit tight, and wait for something to happen. :P

One thing to remember, and this is actually a weakness of the series in terms of its value as a franchise, is that each story has a completely self-contained plot. Now, VDT and LB rely on earlier books for critical back story, and PC and MN rely on LWW for interest and relevance, but SC and HHB can in fact be read as stand-alone books. I think they could also work really well as stand-alone movies. If they're made well and marketed well, they could come out at any time, without rebooting the entire series.

I haven't given up hope for another Narnia movie, but then again I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't. I feel like we are all "Old Narnians" waiting for the return of Douglas Gresham, like the Narnians were waiting for the return of Aslan. And many of the Old Narnians stopped believing that he would return, but they got proven wrong. Hopefully that will be the case for the movies :)

Nice analogy! :D I haven't given up hope, either. I still log in here at the end of the day to see if new news comes up.

Lilygloves, that made me smile. :)

I admit, this is quite frustrating. I know that they if Walden decides to stop making Narnia movie, they won't come out and say it. However, as a fan, I would much rather prefer that they tell us that they won't make any more films (if that's the case.)

I don't know when I'll "give up" but hopefully, it won't come to that. ;)
