It has been eight months since VDT hit theaters. Still nothing. Last we heard, there was no script, and negotiations had stalled.
It is unlikely that Walden would actually announce "we have decided to not make anymore movies." But one can't wait forever.
How much time will have to pass before you give up and start moving on?
I consider myself to pretty much have already moved on. If they make another one, they make it. If not, it's not going to ruin my life. I disliked pretty much everything about VDT, so I have no great hopes for the future of the franchise. So yeah, not really bothered about it. I do wish Walden would just make the announcement already though, instead of continuing to drag it out.
Judging how quiet these forums have become, I would say that more than plenty of people have already moved on.
Personally, I've already accepted that this franchise was waning long after PC came out (and was severely disappointed with the film) and the box office results came in. VODT didn't really help either.
If there's anything left in regards to Narnia, it's a slim hope that someday a fresh talent would take control of the franchise and invigorate it. Otherwise, I think it's pretty much over for now.
Now time to explore other new worlds! *pulls out a copy of A Dance With Dragons*
"Now we shall take the adventure that Aslan has given to us!"
I will never give up reading the books, but the movies I could easily drop since I like the books way better.
Let's look at VDT. Look how long things got delayed, and while these were the opposite problems that "Narnia 4" is having, some fans thought we'd never see it on screen(I was not a Narnia fan until VDT post-production), but with patience, we got rewarded with VDT, whether we liked it or not.
Michael Flaherty did say in a March interview it could be some time. before we see "Narnia 4". Waiting a few years could be a good thing, waiting for other major film franchises to complete, like Twilight and LotR. If that is the case, I will be patient.

If they just sit around and do nothing for a few years, I won't accept it. I hope a new interview with Michael Flaherty or somebody from Walden comes up. Maybe they can give us some answers.
I don't know what else to say at this point, but let's be supportive of the franchise right now in any way we can. Narnia fans unite.
Uh, The Lord of the Rings finished long ago.

She's talking about the Hobbit. It's generally considered part of the "LotR film franchise" even though the book isn't part of the LotR trilogy.
LotR isn't actually a trilogy.
*flees the discussion*
Yes, it's one book published in three parts due to paper costs following World War 2.

"The series"?
"The series" always has meant and always will mean the books. Walden has simply made themselves irrelevant.

I think it is over. After how bad VotDT was and i had major issues with PC as well i just don't see how they can recover. And if they do another film for whatever reason i think it will be just as bad as the last one so really why continue.
There are no clouds in the sky. There is only the open sun and the Lord watches.
I don't see why people have huge issues with PC. While it was only an average adaptation, it was a quality movie. The largest negatives were Peter's complete change of character from the book (oh, and the Suspian kiss). VDT succeeded in neither area. It was a mediocre movie and an awful adaptation.

I still have hope at the moment, but I will not be surprised if they don't continue with the films. It'll be really sad if they decide not to, but in a way I guess I'll feel relieved either way it goes.
Long Live King Caspian & Queen Liliandil Forever!
Jill+Tirian! Let there be Jilrian!
I've unofficially given up. I'm not waiting anxiously for news anymore- either it comes or it doesn't. I've subscribed to NarniaWeb on my Twitter so I'll get the update if it ever comes. I'll still come from time to time on the forums but this seems like the end to me.
How does this make me feel?
As a fan of the books part of me is disappointed but a larger part is relieved that C. S. Lewis's legacy will not include another 'Aptedation'. This part of me is ready to move on.
As a NarniaWebber I find it much harder to let go. Sure NarniaWeb might still be around but it wouldn't be the same. If this truly is the end of the series I'm going to miss the forums, the podcasts, the news stories and just the anticipation in general. It's been a fun four years of my life.
Thank you to everyone at NarniaWeb staff for making this such a fun, professional and welcoming website.
I refuse to give up. I watched the BBC television series growing up. Now we have these three. I expect to see another round or more from Walden at some point.
Anyways... There's always the books.
Anyways... There's always the books.
Indeed! I was a Narnia fan even before the movies. The books were what made the series meaningful to me. Yes, I love the movies, but Narnia is so much more than just that. Besides, if the movies don't continue now, that just means I can direct them when I'm older.
So, in answer to the question of this thread, I don't think I'll ever give up on Narnia. As my dear friend johobbit says, "I'm going to live like a NarniaWebber even if there aren't any more movies."
