Not Australia but early reports indicate VDT significantly below LWW but a lot higher than PC in Hong Kong.

This makes me sad. VERY sad! But I haven't lost hope! Maybe it will do better here in North America.

I don't see what is so bad about that news! I mean, as long as it makes more than Prince Caspian everywhere then we will be sure to see The Silver Chair on the silver screen!
Check out "The Magician's Nephew" and "The Last Battle" trailers I created!

It's too early to be sad! It'll pick up as people see it and word of mouth spreads. No worrying!

So... those websites updated with this weekends results... but Narnia isn't listed at all? What's up? Just curious... did the studio withhold the results or something?
According to what i have read on the forums at boxofficemojo and worldofkj, the studio is withholding the international numbers until the film premieres in the USA. I'm a little worried that they did this. While it is common for studios to do this from time to time, it could also mean that it is not doing well. Maybe they don't want people here to view the movie as a bomb before it even opens. Let's face it. Australia is huge for this movie. They filmed it there. Also, the other two did pretty good business in Australia. If it disappoints, or worse bombs in Australia it doesn't bode well for this film. The only place we have to go on is Hong Kong where it is doing pretty solid business.
Variety finally got its act together for its international charts. A nice new tabular format for each country they report. Here
is a link to that page. But it appears that they track movies from Tuesday thru Wednesday. So we have to wait till after Wednesday the 8th for this to be updated.

If its outperforming PC, that's good news. Because of the lower budget for VDT that would be enough to make it successful. (If it outperforms PC when all the results are in, that is).

There is definitely no "a" in definite.
The Mind earns by doing; the Heart earns by trying.
I also got a tweet that has VDT opening at #1 in Mexico with 3D only...just over $30 million pesos which is roughly about $3 million US dollars... PC made $19 million US dollars in it's entire theatrical run.

Box Office Mojo has opened up its weekly poll:
What is your top choice to see this weekend (Dec. 10-12)?
So far Narnia has 100%, which means it's the only interest so far. Of course, I am only the second to submit a vote so far.
Can't wait until it gets well under way, it can give an indication on how it will do opening weekend. They also have the derby, which predicts the weekend gross. This is an average of all those who play, and it's usually very close to the actual weekend gross- though it has had misfires. (only 36 have played so far so all movies are still at $0.0).
we will see tommrow how it is doing in australia, I can't wait to see....
I just started a new thread to talk about all countries' box office totals, so I'm going to go ahead and close this thread. New thread is here.
