How Do You Like the Sets Just as Sets?

So a lot of fans are upset about the (apparent) time period change for the Magician's Nephew movie. I'm one of those fans. But I'm also kind of tired about how much online discussion about modern movie adaptations amounts to complaining about them. Not that people don't have the right to dislike or hate modern movie adaptations. But I also have the right to feel like they've gotten obnoxious. So I decided to start a topic about something I personally really like about the recent set photos.

The sets themselves.

If only this movie was adapting a different Narnia book, one that it made somewhat sense to set in the 1950s, then I'd be stoked for it. (Do people still say stoked? Oh well.) I think they look beautiful.

But even though I started this topic to inject some positivity into this discussion, I'm not asking anyone to lie about their opinion for my sake. If any of you dislike the sets for reasons besides the time period they depict, I'd be interested in reading why.

For better or worse-for who knows what may unfold from a chrysalis?-hope was left behind.

@col-klink The sets look pretty fantastic. Lots of interesting detailing on the props/posters/cars etc.

And kudos to them for doing any large-scale period filming in London. Most productions tend to avoid it completely, due to the hassle/relative lack of period details.
