Third viewing was this evening. I noticed more the opening to the movie and how they had sort of the stained glass of the window of the building turned on its side and then upright to a wider shot of where Edmund is inside trying to enlist. So I suppose I was appreciating the technical aspect of how certain scenes were shot much more.
I think the good parts have definitely grown on me and the soundtrack has as well. The ending has grown on me too. I definitely love the ending so much--it was very heartfelt and done with just the right tone by all involved. Makes me want to take my next vacation in Australia.

The ending grew on me too, the second time around. Except Eustace's line about missing his cousins with all his heart. That was a little contrived. Complete silence on all their parts would have communicated everything. I liked the door closing. That was more moving to me than the scene at the edge of the world.

Another thing I've come to like in general is the name Liliandil. I don't think Douglas Gresham just pasted it together. The etymology is of course a fusing of the name of a flower and the word "star." For those who've read the Space Trilogy, you might recognize the connection with "eldil" who are angelic creatures of space.

I feel like because I have anticipated this movie for way too long and the action went by so fast the first time I watched it that it's impossible for me to give an objective opinion on the film.
While some of the part that I disliked still stood out the second time around, I was able to look past some of the changes and see the big picture clearer. I liked it more at the second viewing but I got to confess that I didn't like it as much at my third viewing (maybe because I expected more after the second viewing ).
Just back from a second viewing. I think i liked it a bit better than the first time. Maybe also because i wasn't 100% fit the first time i saw it. I have only problems with The Lone island, it was way too short. I'm fine with the rest. Very decent movie. If i were a hardcore bookfan i might have liked it less. But i know book and movies are different media. I can view them as 2 seperate entities.
I've seen it twice in 3D, and the second time was a whole ton better than the first. The first, I was so excited that I was in a theater watching the movie that I missed a lot. The second time, I calmed myself down, (lol) and was able to appreciate the movie a lot more. Dawn Treader is a great movie, though maybe not a perfect adaption, but I really enjoyed it. Better than LWW, tied with PC.

I watched the film for the second time yesterday, and I think that I was able to sit back and enjoy it a lot more, though I will admit that the cheesy lines got a whole lot cheesier (Coriakin's speech of doom anyone? *cringe*) and I noticed a couple of other things I hadn't before which annoyed me.
Overall I think that the good and the bad cancelled each other out, so I voted no difference. It's a decent movie, but compared to the other two Narnia films I don't think it stands up as well.

I enjoyed it better the second time around. I felt the excitement of the adventure more, and I appreciated the acting at certain points. I love the last scene and that shot of Lucy exiting the room. Reminds me a bit of her last scene in LWW, where she's leaving the wardrobe room with Professor Kirke.
It didn't make much of a difference the second time I watched it, I still hated everything that I hated the first time I saw it, with an even greater hate, and I loved the parts that I loved the first time I saw it, with an even greater love. No Difference for me, my feelings stayed the same

I particularly enjoyed more the second viewing. Because the pacing is so fast in the movie, I was not able to assimilate fully the character's development and the themes of the book. In the second viewing I actually enjoyed it more, because I already knew what was going to happen, so my mind could actually assimilate things faster and the movie actually felt slower to me. (I think the fact I didn't drink a huge amount of soda and hadn't to refrain myself to going to the bathroom as in the first viewing helped a lot.) I have to say I would like to see a third time. Though the flaws the movie have become more apparent from each viewing, it certainly is more comfortable once you have gotten used to them. One minor detail though, after my first viewing I wasn't sure how to rate this film. Now, I can fully say that I liked PC and LWW more than VDT, but I still find VDT a decent movie. Though is by far the weakest adaptation.

I enjoyed the movie more the second time I saw it. The first time I saw it I think I was over analyzing it. Since I haven't read the book in a couple of years there were a few things I had forgotten so during the movie I was constantly asking myself "Was that in the book?" However, I still loved it and wanted to see it again. And I am glad I saw it again because I liked it even more.

I voted "No Difference"
I wouldn't say I liked it less, but it didn't have such a "Shiny" feeling. If you know what I mean. I didn't get such a "Wow!" at the good parts, but they were still just as good. And the bad parts didn't get any easier to watch.
So yes, the newness is gone.
