From what I'm hearing lots of people, myself included, liked the movie more after watching it two or three times than just watching it once. I'm not sure if it was because I knew what to expect, if it was because of the 3D, or if it was because I was getting used to the new feel, but its growing on me- I liked it better after seeing it a second time. It seemed less rushed and less kiddish.

I've seen it three times. There is more to get after multiple viewings than just one. Even Douglas Gresham said that you get a lot more out of it after multiple viewings, and I don't think he was saying that merely to get people to see it over and over again. He said that part later. The better movies are ones where you can get more out of it after multiple movies (I'm not referring to the ones that require multiple viewings just to get it.). VDT is more than just an entertaining film, there is some deep stuff in there that is truer to the book thematically than the first impression will give. But you won't get it if you are so focused on how the movie is not the book word for word. Not even BBC could get that.
Be watching for the release of my spiritual warfare novel under a new title: "Call to Arms" by OakTara Publishing. A sequel (title TBD) will shortly follow.
good the first time. but it was definitely better the 2nd time.
I think I felt a little bit better because I did notice some of the deeper meanings to certain scenes and more of the details of the actors' performances, enough to respect it as an okay movie.

I liked it better the second time since I knew what to expect and the changes didn't bother me as much.
Like most people, the second viewing was better for me. I went to the theater with a friend who loves to laugh, and we chuckled our way through the film. There is a lot of humor in it!
Movie Aristotle, AKA Risto
I just came from seeing it a second time. In its favor, it did not get worse. I still think the production values (give or take a few CG shots of the dragon and Aslan) are very good. The music, on the main, is fresh. There did seem to be too much of it in the action scenes.
One thing I noticed is how little Rynelf is in it. I mean, we heard a lot about Tony Nixon during production---but where are all his lines!? I was amazed to find, instead, how much Rhince is in the movie. From a book-point-of-view, that's skewed.
The green mist, the seven swords plot, and Coriakin's lines didn't get any better.
I really enjoyed the movie up until they reached the lone islands. As soon as they hit shore, the movie started falling apart. Lines started getting cheesy, facial expressions started getting aggravated, and the story was butchered.
I know a lot of folks really like the Eustace and Reepicheep friendship, but I think it's hugely flawed. Reepicheep was incredibly glib and annoying. His were by far the worst lines ("onward ho!" ), and his comforting of Eustace was incredibly contrived. And would Reepicheep REALLY be standing on the nose of the dragon prow during a horrible storm!? Would he really be dancing on the tip of Dragon Eustace's nose while flying in the air? Is he an idiot as well as brave?

LOL I also was wondering how Reep managed not to fall off Dragon-Eustace's nose....some great balance maybe.
The comforting of Dragon-Eustace seemed to me pretty much in the spirit of the book I think, but yeah the underdevelopment overall is definitely a flaw. One thing was the movie made Eustace's and Reep's farewell a lot more sentimental and emotional than in the book (now that addition I liked a lot and appreciated once again on the second viewing).

For me, the second viewing was not as good (I just got back). Probably because I got over the euphoria of the first viewing. The first time, I was just excited that VDT was being realized as a movie and that the changes weren't quite as bad as I expected. The second time, though, I think I entered the theater in the mindset of a movie critic, rather than a Narnia fan. (It probably didn't help that I was with my brother, who loves to analyze movies with me, either). This time I noticed some of the bad camera shots that a lot of people were complaining about (the "shaky camera" was especially bad in the Lone Island fight), as well as the cheesy lines and some of the bad plot development. At the same time, though, the movie didn't seem quite as rushed and the green mist didn't bother me quite as much. After talking it over with my brother (who gave it two out of five stars, just like our local newspaper did), I decided that instead of the 8.5/10 rating I gave it the first time, I would probably give it a 6/10. I felt like they really missed the mark on the whole drive of the book (Aslan's Country) and tried to make up for it with their own twisted plot (green mist/seven swords). The absence of the longing for Aslan's Country actually bothered me more than the additional plotline. I don't know. Sadly enough, I didn't cry this time around, even though I was bawling at the end the first time through. I guess I'll have to see it again...

I loved it a lot more the second time! I guess because the first time i was really nervous to see it and this time I went in expecting what I saw the first time. I really loved that this time my theater was packed with lots of people whom in the end loved it. They were clapping and i loved even more that parents were explaining to their children the obvious themes in this movie. I loved it a whole lot!

Same here, on the critiquing level. Some parts seemed a little forced and the lines were still cheesy. At some cliche lines (cough, deathwater, cough) I sadly did what I can't stand in movies: people making sarcastic comments... However, on a brighter side, I also liked my second viewing because I got to laugh a lot with all the humor and noticed things from the "did you notice" thread
I also got a headache with the 3D
Overall I think the good and the bad canceled out, so I just voted no difference

I'm sorry about the headache. I didn't like it in 3D either...2D was much, much better.
I voted "No Difference" because there really was no difference. I did feel a bit more positive about a few things, and I liked it a lot more in 2D (we saw it in 3D first, then 2D)...but the bad still outweighed the good.

After my second viewing, I felt reassured more than anything. My first viewing was a disconcerting, disappointing event after all the rave reviews I'd heard. But the second film allowed me to see the good points and work out more what I liked and what I didn't, what was true and what was not.
My third viewing was a further journey into sorting out the still-slightly messy film that is Dawn Treader...
