I agree, probably because HHB was not between LWW and PC, and SC is not after VDT they thought that they were going to miss them out completely. I hope i'm right anyway...I am on the MAKE Silver Chair side...its the best book IMO and if they don't make it then they cant really make LB unless Eustace goes on his own. Why does no one ever see this? Everyone is so willing to skip SC after MN and go streight to LB but that wont work without Jill from SC...
Narnia is childhood...
Seriously, just give the kid the orange. He needs his vitamin C!
I don't believe it either. The Guardian is probably jumping to conclusions/making assumptions based on MN being highly buzzed as next in production.
Exactly. Their statement defies all logic. Walden would not make that decision so far in advance.
Like I've said, from here on out the series must try to survive one movie at a time. After MN, Walden will look at the box office and make a decision.
Also, Hollywood seems to like trilogies, and if they make the silver chair (but not HB) they could create two sets of 3 films.
I hate to say it, but the only way I would be excited for future Narnia films is if the next got a new director, new scriptwriters, and an entirely new distributor (I knew Fox would be a mistake).

Unless I'm wrong, doesn't Fox only help with the advertising and such? If so, that doesn't mean that Fox was for the most part a mistake, although the advertising was pretty bad. I agree on a new (but good) director and new (but good) scriptwriters. New would be nice, but unless it's a good new, we're better off with the old. Let's just hope we're lucky enough for this good news on good new guys for MN.
It's hard to imagine it getting any worse, honestly.

I've been out of the Narnia loop lately but are they planning on a Silver Chair?

No definite plans for SC. They are making MN next. Since it's unlikely to make enough money to justify continuation of the franchise, that'll probably be the last Narnia film.
