I thought it was the best film yet, and I WORSHIPED the last two!
This one, for me, was the best yet because it has beautifully made! The scenery was breathtaking and the dawn treader looked at home in the waters of every Island visited!
Acting was fab too, especially by Will Poulter.
This film also had a comedy element- it was a lot more lighthearted and fun and the characters realy drew you in and made you feel as if you were actually in the film!
As far as the stry goes, O.K so it didn't follow the book exactly, but the changes wern't that bad and while watching the film i didn't notice much, unlike in Prince Caspian when I kept thinking 'so and so is happening next' and it never did!
I did think however, that georgie henly struggled a bit with her acting in this, especially with the CGI interaction, but she was still great so everything was fine!
All in all i thin it was a greally fun film and can't wait for the next (Fingers crossed)

I absolutely love this movie!
Sure there are minor flaws here and there but over all I think it´s just wonderful. It´s exciting, adventurous, fantastical, warm, funny,
beautiful and lovely. I think all the three movies benefit a lot
from eachother and should be seen as one long because
together they have all the best elements of
a great fantasy saga. :)
Will Poulter is just fantastic and especially so after
his undragoning. I just want to hug him and
make him feel part of the others and Narnia.
He sure will be soon enough...
Now bring on The Silver Chair and let us all have a seat!

Acting was bad apart from Will Poulter.
Themes were ok I guess.
Plot was very muddled.
Cinematography was terrible.

To be perfectly honest, they ruined the best parts of this story (the dragon and redemption) and replaced it with some stupid story that doesn't make sence (the 'evil' mist which is never really explained'.

Plus the action was terribly well done. The first half was actually the worse film I had watched, it made Clash of the Titans look epic. The second half was better, but still nothing compared to the first two.

The second one was my favorite, although I think the book was the weakest of them all. The film did a lot with a average story ark. I liked the cinematography and the direction was really good. I liked the darker tone, and if the Vogue of the Dawn Treader was made by all the same people, it would have been amazing. Instead we get some high budgeted B-movie, with some of the worst special effects and fight scenes, as well as poor acting and script I have seen in a film with a budget higher than 50 million.

I really hope that they work out how to make a movie worthy of the books before The Last Battle comes along. I really hope the old director gets put back in charge, and that they change the script writer. Because the films they have brought out so far are less than than worthy, these films should be as good as the Lord of the Rings, as the books were.

I am sorry for being so negative in my first post on these forums, but this is the way I feel and if the next film is bad as well, I can't go and see any more as it will just upset me too much.

I just saw this:

I voted worst Narnia film yet, It can best be represented in a formula:
ANIME*HARRYPOTTER-COOLMAGICSTUFF+PC(SC)/VDT[arrow]SHIP=(-VDT)

The way I see it, they took everything they could and turned it upside down. Its too funny and Americanized. Also, in my opinion, the Mist is stupid. I didnt like Euctace, he was too skinny and mean and hopeless, I like the feeling that theres some good in him, and that he's chubby ( ;) ) I hated that Eustace didnt even try to take the dragon skin off, and Aslan just did it for him in the easiest way possible, so I dont think he learned anything from that bit, apart from the dragon thing being pulled out almost to the point of cliche' I dont think Ill be getting this on DVD, and Ill probably not see it again in theaters after the Lion Party. I believe that if Lewis was alive, and he had ever met Chuck Norris there would be a severe beating.
*AsJ is unhappy*

I agree with this totally. I liked Eustace, although I didn't think he was as good as everyone was saying. I actually can't understand how they could make it so bad. The BBC version was so much better

I was dying to see the film for ages, after loving the first two book adaptions :) I have only seen it once so far...
Firstly I was really impressed with the special effects- particularly the serpant scene, which I found practically flawless! What i love about these films is the attention to detail, especially the ship which was beautiful and must have took a very long period of time to make. The storyline didnt exactly stick to the plot, but the director added in some interesting touches, noticably focussing on how Lucy was growing up, which they didnt really need to include in the other two because she was younger, and viewers needed to focus on the plot. I found it easy to relate to how she was feeling; insicure about herself in comparisson to her older sister.

I LOVED REEPICHEEP!!! :) As far as acting goes I thought Eustuce was amazing!!! Will perfectly captured the escence of his character and i loved his attitude! I was kind of dissapointed with Georgie :( In the other two films she is a lot more believable but I found her acting quite 'wooden' and sometimes cheesy! Where did Gael come from???? Quite random, but i think it worked and added another interesting aspect. ;) Was very suprised how they kept in christian connotations which was great, especially the last scene with Aslan- i was seriously streaming! :'(

Overall I enjoyed watching the film, espacially as it had less boring battle scenes! I find that these films have been really similar to what i have actually imagioned whilst reading the books which i love. I was a little dissapointed with the acting, but everything else seemed to make up for this and I will deffinately see it again :D x

This film actually left me feeling more empty than the other two. My favorite thing in the movie was the credits, actually! :) Not that it was a bad movie, but I really prefered the other two to this one.

I agree that the ending was THE BEST part of the movie!
Another problem with the movie is that I didn't really understan where the climax was. I guess it was when they deafeted the Serpent, or was it Aslan's Country??? :-

Yeah, I know what you guys mean. Even though this is my favourite Narnia film so far ( I wont go into reasons why because I already have...) I think that it is very non linear and I couldn't tell where the climax was because straight after the sea serpent scene there was Aslans country and it just came a little bit too fast one after each other! Thinking over it I just can't tell what the climax of the film was! You'de think that it would be a good think to have two excitin bits but perhaps they should have had a bit more between them!

I really think the climax was when Eustace crashed on the island then he went back and fought the sea serpant.

I thought he faught the sea serpent then the lorn threw the sword at him and he flew off and crashed?!?
But non the less I had forgotten about that! That part was really good as well and it led on the the undragoning etc...

I liked VDT even though I was a little disappointed, so I voted for "good" not for "great". My main problem was the pacing which was way too fast. I think the film would have been MUCH better if they had stopped sometimes to build up tension or to develop the characters.

I think the whole sea serpent fight can be seen as the climax of the film. They didn't pay much attention either to the undragoning or Aslan's country (which should be the climaxes according to the book). Reepicheep mentions Aslan's country only once before in the film and there was no indication of his longing for Aslan's country. So, the scene where Reep goes there is not powerful at all :(

Good but not great, better than PC but not as good as LWW.

I can see why they might have felt the need to add the whole green mist/evil island bit. One of the reasons that the the book was my favorite was its episodic feel- one self-contained episode after another, giving it a kind of relaxed voyaging feel. And of course this was the original motive: "let's go see what's out there" ( the Seven Lords being basically an excuse).

That might have scared off movie-goers who would be trying to figure out the 'plot'- there ain't one!

The difference is that people wanted to hear the stories, whereas I never met anyone who wanted to read the essays

I am new here but a long time Narnia fan. I had the books read to me when I was little, and read them myself. Now that I'm an adult I can appreciate the stories and the symbolism so much more than I used to.

I am also still only in my early to mid 20s, and so I don't have a high tolerance for horrible special effects. With the right people, we can make almost anything believable on screen nowadays.

That is why I was so looking forward to seeing Narnia on film, because they could actually pull it off. I loved the LW&TW (especially that magical music). Prince Caspian was good but not as magical (tho at the time I had seen it, I had not read the book in ages).

TVOTDT, I thought was ok. They did not need to add that stupid green mist or the 7 swords to the plot. I do not mind that Eustace was a dragon for longer than normal or the sea serpent at the end, but that was the only part that was a bit long. Everything else was rushed. I like the movie and will buy it, but it could've been better. And since I just re-read the book, I think most of that would've translated fine on screen. They could've even added a flashback type scene where the 7 lords are banished from Narnia/Talmare and go on the run. I think looking for the 7 lords is good enough of a reason to take the voyage. Anyways...

Aslan didn't look as realistic in this one, or at least, not like himself. I'm not sure why, maybe it was his color. Thank God at least Neeson agreed to do his voice again.

I am alright with the idea of The Magicians Nephew next, I do love these books and would like all 7 movies to be made (although I guess I shouldn't support them if they totally deviate from the mark). I do agree that Will Poulter is growing up fast, but I do not mind if they are a little older (say the current ages of the Harry Potter characters) for the SC and last Battle. That will ensure that the girl that played Lucy will be a full grown adult by the time they film The Last Battle, and then, they could always film The Horse and His Boy after that. Although unless somone gets behind these new films that really cares about them, I just don't hope they don't ruin them.

Welcome to NarniaWeb Falaskan! I agreee with you that the movie was too fast paced. Everything was happening super fast, but at the same time nothing really happens. :(
