We've had a spy report that it was in front of HP. My guess is it is much the same as it was in front of Toy Story 3... it'll be in front of some prints, but not others. It all depends on what theater it'll be in.
Advertising has definitely increased. I've seen commercials on several different tv stations not just with ties to Fox. Books in the bookstores. And the theatrical trailer.
Hmm maybe its just me...
I've seen the books in the stores though. There are posters up in the theatres near me as well. I wish I was lucky enough to see a T.V. spot.

Ok, is it just me, or has everyone outside of the Narnia community either:
A) Given up hope after Prince Caspian being poorly received critically and financially. Don't like the series any more.
B) Think the trailer looks cheap, doesn't expect much out of the film.
C) Doesn't even know that the movie is coming out?
Harry Potter was literally all I heard about Friday at school after only being released one day. Have heard zilch about Narnia.
I know that message and comment boards are the worst possible place to find positive reactions, but every single topic was negative, saying they've lost interest in the film franchise, or hated it to begin with. Harry Potter on the other hand was at the very least a mixed bag.
I'm just really worried. I'm fairly confident now that Dawn Treader will gross far less than even Prince Caspian, even with positive reviews. The world has just lost interest in Narnia, no one will look for the good reviews even if they are there.
no one will look for the good reviews even if they are there.
If that's the case, then I just lost faith in humanity. They expect something good and positive, and when it's given to them- they don't take it. Tell me does that make any sense?!
I think a lot of it has to do with C though... every time I mention it someone always says, "They're making another one?" Problem is the general audience doesn't even realize that there are seven books, not just one... I brought it up the other day to someone I know and they said they heard that they changed the actor for Caspian (Which btw is completely untrue) I wonder where they got that from- just goes to show how little people know about the movie.

Hmm, I don't know. There was a lot of "they're making another one?" a few months ago, but now that advertising has ramped up, I have definitely noticed an increase in friends awareness of the film. For instance, today at church, three people approached me on two separate occasions to talk about the film. I'm pretty sure they didn't know that I'd gone to see it, so it wasn't like I was the one that had brought it up. No, there's been a ton of Narnia billboards in our area, plus more TV advertising and whatnot.
Fox seems to have taken the tortoise approach to marketing, and with three weeks to go, it may be working. People are starting to get interested in the film soon enough that they know about it in time, but not too far away that they'll think about it and then forget about it again. No, they're remembering it, and since it comes out in a few weeks, they won't forget.
I'm feeling MUCH better about Fox's marketing plan now than I did a few months ago. Much, much better. I have a feeling that it's going to pay off!
I'm super worried about the marketing for this film. I think disney dropping Narnia made bigger headlines then Fox picking it up. Alot of people i think just moved on. Thats why they need more tv spots, maybe a McDonalds promotion etc. This has to feel like an event movie. I have only seen 2 tv spots. They were on tv land at 1 in the morning during Everybody Loves Raymond. Thats early Monday morning. I'm sure not to many people saw it. Time will tell i guess.
