Aravis Narnia: yeah what do you mean by that? Seeing if they're willing to go through a painful entrance in order to get to Narnia and him?

Oh gosh, I never even thought about the Narnia-entering scene from SC (I guess I'm just trying to save myself from disappointment should they decide not to make the other four books into movies...). But, now I see how they would try and make it all action-y with a tornado or something like that ~x( .
Myself, I've never actually seen any of the BBC versions, except for LWW which I saw in fourth grade (and so I've forgotten most of it).

Glenstorm, your opinion is your opinion.

Lots of people loved the BBC tv serials, which were made in the late 1980s, using the pre-CG technology of the time and a low budget.
They still have devoted fans!! I go back and watch my old video tapes from back then, and find it's better than I remembered - there were plenty of areas for improvement, but they still have their charm.

But I am hoping for great things from Walden's VDT!!

There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.

Sorry I don't mean to offend anyone but I find them painful to watch, for more reasons than just the animation/graphics and such.

^^^Yeah I think they're good considering the time period they were made in, except they could have used real stags, that always bugged me. But, anyway, now that the CGI has improved, they don't have to look as fake. (And they can use animotronics/ CGI instead of horses with sticks tied to their heads, if they absolutely have too- ex: LWW both versions comparitively)

^^ BBC's Narnia has always bugged me! the battle in LWW is the worst! :p

it's going to be crazy that the Pevensies and Eustace are going to have to swim 25 feet up to get to the surface in VotDT.....I think that is going to be the most insane and awesome thing i have ever seen in a movie! :D :D

^^it will be pretty cool, but I have to say I've seen more exciting things...but then again I haven't seen the movie yet so we don't know how dramatic they'll make the entrance in to Narnia...

Yeah, the falling-into-the ocean would be dramatic and really cool to watch :D. It's probably the most exciting entrance into Narnia in the books (since in the PC movie they made it a lot more dramatic than it was in the book), IMO (though I liked the fur coat to pine trees transition in LWW the best).

I agree. The entrance in LWW has a sense of magic and wonderment - it's not meant to be abrupt. I think they got it perfect in the movie, especially when Lucy first enters; it really felt like how the first steps into Narnia should feel. The gentle falling snow, Lucy's facial expressions, the musical score; all perfect, in my opinion. Definitely not an "OUCH!" entrance, unlike some of the others :p

Why do people keep bringing up BBC's Narnia? I was so overjoyed when I saw the preview for the 2005 movie because I wanted to block those cringe worthy disasters out of my mind.

And I did see them as a child so the whole nostalgia thing doesnt work for me.
