I think the only possible part of the torch that would have broken is the bulb, which after Ed used the flashlight so violantly in PC must be virtually indestructable.
I think that it would have been put aside as a royal treasure and never used. I think I shall do a little research on the batteries created in the early to mid 40's in London, just to see about the plausability...

I think he does leave it behind again as if you do the quiz on Edmunds character page one question asks what Edmund leaves behind in Narnia at the end of the THIRD film and one of the answers if his TORCH! Going to go back now and check if its the right answer

yeah, ditto! I hope so as well! I am going to be bawling when Edmund and Lucy find out they can't come back!

OH I know!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't even really like the PC film but I was in floods when Lucy was leaving at the end of it and the song Lyrics were 'I'll be back when you call me - no need to say goodbye' I'll need serious cheering up at the end of VDT when she's not coming back and on second thoughts I don't think a funny line about a torch is going to do it! They HAVE to make LB so I can see them all (except Susan) get into Aslans country - Then I'll cry again but it'll be happy (and slightly jealous) crying

And maybe Shift and Puzzle should find the torch in the pool by the lion skin.

And the flashlight will slip through a time portal and light up Polly's secret hideout while she and Digory explore there.

I thought that it was odd and funny that they were using Ed's torch, and there's a candle sitting right there on the stack of books. Interesting.......

I'm guessing that the candle was down there already, and they were already using the flashlight.

If the flashlight runs out then hey put Lilliandil in the rest of the scenes!
