I said Yeas I can't wait...but this is only wishfull thinking really :(
I mean we've had lots of encoraging posts but when you boil it down, we wont know untill we know (If that makes sense!) and I don't want to get my hopes up.
I wrote to Nina Gold as an actress enquiring about SC becasue I thought it might be worth a try but she didn't have any info about casting YET! (I thought the key word was yet!)
Iknow that casting wont start untill SC has been Greenlit (Fingers crossed :) ) But you never know who has been talking to who! Just thought I'd tell you guys what I know.
I really want this made though...as in REALLY!

I don't know who 'adapt' is meant to be, but Michael Apted, according to this Wikipedia article, has other commitments in 2011-2012, when he is due to direct the next instalment of the Up series, which started in 1964. This new series will be 56 up.

So far, we haven't heard a word on whether we will have a film or not, let alone who might be directing it. And today's news about Perry Moore is also a bad blow, since he is one of the people who have persevered with all three movies to date.

I think they will make Silver Chair. I also wouldn't mind if Apted still directed for it and i wouldn't mind if he didn't. Just to see this movie is enough and will make me happy.

Well it sounds like MN might be greenlit... But in all honesty it wouldn't suprise me if they came out with an SC greenlight soon too.

I hope you are right Wolfloversk! I couldn't stand to see the role of Eustace recast because Will Poulter is too old :-(
I say bring on the silver chair, its too good a story not to make into a film!

We haven't heard anything official yet on MN or SC, but to balance out this mornings' tertiary information implying MN will be next, I'll link to a secondary source that implies that SC will be next:

http://blogs.indiewire.com/thompsononhollywood/2011/02/04/anthony_dalessandro_gullivers_travels_dawn_treader/

It might have appeared that Dawn Treader was just another 3-D title (repping 58% of its U.S. total) in a crowded PG season, but moviegoers told their friends otherwise. To date, Dawn Treader has made $102 million at the domestic B.O. – a number that Warner Bros.’ pop toon Yogi Bear ($93 million) has yet to hit. Such good news has spurred talks between Fox and Walden Media about bringing the fourth C.S. Lewis book The Silver Chair to the screen.

(emphasis added)

Paul Martin from Narniafans gives his thoughts on the story here:
http://www.narniafans.com/archives/11349

My thought at this point is that everything is speculation so far. I'm not sure I can trust Mr. Alessandro at Thompson on Hollywood that SC will be next any more than I can trust WTKR that MN will be next. http://www.wtkr.com/news/wtkr-moore-death-feb18,0,1493435.story

What is clear, however, is that:
#1. The studios are seriously preparing for another Narnia film.
#2. There is some discussion on which one should come next.

After this morning's news, I would not be surprised to hear that either film has been green-lit, and it has been in the back of my mind for quite some time now that the studios may make a couple or even all of the rest of the Chronicles simultaneously. It would not surprise me to hear that both MN & SC have been green-lit.

There are a lot of possibilities, but in any case, I'm guessing that as a result of Mr. Moore's passing, we will be hearing an official word from the studio soon.

I think glumPuddle put it best:

It is strange to see a story like this (even an unofficial one) break out of such a tragedy.

In regards to Will Poulter getting too old to play Eustace in SC: I don't know how much of a problem this would be if he were a couple of years older. All of the Pevensies (and Caspian too) are older in the movies than the books anyways. Jill just needs to be around Eustace's age. I think there's room in time, especially since they can make Will P. look younger than his real age. (I still don't think it's very wise to wait too long, though. :| )

Anyway, it sounds to me (although I am no expert) that we might be able to look forward to another Narnia movie after all.

I suppose it's possible that SC and MN could both be green-lit at the same time (considering especially that they don't use the same characters). Then perhaps we would not have to worry about the White Witch appearing in SC, since she'd be in MN at the same time. ;)) I do wonder if budgetary reasons will allow for two movies to be green-lit, though. :(

Who is Nina Gold?!

I hope both films are greenlit. I have a hunch that it will be the case, and that's what I'm hoping for! :)

Trufflehunter, Nina Gold is the VDT casting director and she will probably be the casting director for subsequent Fox Narnia films becasuse of her asociation and casting sucess.

I hope both are greenlit too, thought i want SC more :)

Well, for those of us who thought we'd be hearing something official after the opening in Japan: it turns out we were right. -Although it may have just been a coincidence in this case.

The surprise is that we're hearing so much about MN, although it sounds like SC is still in the running.

From reading that they're talking with Fox, it's not a concretely clear definite about MN yet. Though reading that just now made me very sad if they truly aren't going to do SC next. :(( :(( :(( Wonder why most of that audience clapped for MN? Hmmm....

Because most of the audience doesn't realize that they might make the huge mistake of recasting Will P. In every other regard (except continuity) however MN is the better choice. I still haven't put it past them doing both at once, but I don't think they're reading the fansites.... I wish someone would finally just interview them and ask them if they are still thinking about making both at the same time...

Until I find myself with more reason to fear, I don't think Will's age will be such an issue. After all, has the production team actually said anything about recasting Will? I agree that we should be a little bit worried about this, but we have no proof of them recasting Will yet, so that's not such a big problem yet. ;)

As for SC being made, apparently, we might not get it for now. I was so sure that they would choose this, but I can't say I'm very positive about it anymore. I love MN, but SC also has great potetional. Also, someone pointed out that we aren't getting to see how the GM plot works out. I think they need to finish that off first, or else, there'll be that hole of confusion for a long time.

So, I hope SC is made, but I don't think there's a strong chance that it'll be made next now. :(

I agree. MN is probably the best choice at this period in time. It will hopefully bring people back to the magic that is Narnia, as opposed to the dark Narnia in SC. And I'd much rather have and older Eustace than a non-Will Poulter Eustace.
