Agree with the "likeability" factor influencing buying/renting the VDT DVD over PC. I've heard of people who expected to like VDT more than PC and they did, though not as much as they thought they would before they actually saw the movie. Though am curious to know how much of rental fees go to over profit numbers for VDT? I'm sure it was posted somewhere on the board before....

Went to a local (near my temp job) Walmart yesterday and there was a big poster for VDT's DVD release at the entrance. I wonder how many people are thinking "There was another Narnia Movie?" as it only made 1/3 of LWW's total.
Hopefully curiosity will add to the number of units sold or rented.

I think the DVD will do well, both in the US and worldwide. I'll go and buy it the day it comes out.
I bought my copy today!!! it has been released early in australia, but only to Sanity music stores!!! woohooo soo happy, about to watch it with my sis
In the grand scheme MOVIES ARE NOT IMPORTANT, people are important, Love one another and treat eachother how we would like to be treated ourselves!
30-50 mil. I'm guessing it'll end up following PC's numbers.

I've pre-ordered.
My copy should arrive on the 13th.
This is probably faulty logic, but I voted a little better than PC for the same reasons that I thought VDT's Box Office would be better than PC's: Lighter Story, More Family Friendly, Better Liked Book, etc. Family videos tend to do quite well, and if Fox can market this as a kid's movie then they should do well.
If I'm wrong and this movie sells worse than PC, then it is most likely because VDT was of lesser quality.

I voted significantly better than Prince Caspian. IDK I just think people will buy this.
Long Live King Caspian & Queen Liliandil Forever!

Are there any totals as of yet for DVD sales in Australia and any other already released countries?!

I don't know about any grand totals. But I do know that VDT is very popular here in Russia. The DVD has been out since March, and its everywhere. I've even seen them selling it in food stores

I was on Amazon this evening and the prices for both the blu-ray and DVD have gone down.

Apparently Fox are going to be doing some big promotions for the DVD in Walmart and other such big supermarket type stores. Check out the big Dawn Treader Boat display here. Looks like its mostly loaded up with Coca-Cola?
Thanks for the picture, icarus. I'll be looking for that Saturday when I go buy my copy at Walmart.
Also, IMDB has apparently started tracking the top USA DVD rentals again (at least the top 20 rankings). http://www.imdb.com/boxoffice/rentals
Hopefully they will continue to do so and we can see how long VDT stays in the top 20.

Yes, of course. Because nothing says Dawn Treader like Coke.

Promotional partners are just part of the game. But I say they should stack boxes of Turkish Delight on the ship. That stuff can be hard to find.
