True, Narnia needs to be a good film with staying power to do well. But what it needs right now is a good trailer.

I'm no big Harry Potter fan, but the trailer is making me incredibly excited for that movie. Same goes with Tron Legacy.

The VotDT trailer on the other hand is really bad and unless a better trailer comes out, I'm not going to tell people I want to see this movie. It looks like a poorly done kiddie 3D flick. I'm not saying thats what it is, but thats what the poorly done trailer is showing. The new trailer (which should premire with Harry Potter and Tangled), needs to be a really good trailer that makes me excited for the movie like the new Harry Potter trailer.

Cause if things don't improve, I wouldnt be shocked if the Johnny Depp/Angelina Jolie movie beats VotDT at #1 box office. Even if it got good reviews, people would look at how little VotDT made and they would think "Well this isnt a movie I NEED to see, since hardly anyone else is watching it".

I agree with Josh about another trailer. I think nowadays it is more important to have a variety of visual enticements for a movie. I think in the old days one was enough but now two or three different trailers emphasizing different story and visual aspects are a plus. B-)

I'm sure there will be at least one more trailer and that it should come out next month at the latest (IMHO). If the competition is showing more stuff, so should VDT. :)

What is Tron? Is that that movie with the glowing super hero costumes where it looks like they are stuck in a computer?

Right now my biggest worries are Tron and Harry Potter. I'm also slightly worried about Tangled, but no where near as much. I will admit I was glad to hear that they canceled the 3-D HP version, that gives VDT a better chance to dominate the 3-D market, as long as it will be as good as what some people have said.

Is the Guliver's Travels movie going to be animated or film?
And what exactly is Tron?

aragorn2, Gulliver's Travels movie is a live-action film starring Jack Black. However, the film itself seems more like a parody by JB rather than an actual adaptation.

Tron is a sci-fi film made by Disney and the basic premise is a guy that gets trapped in an electronic world. More details here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tron_%28film%29

The film has a strong cult following ever since it was released 1982. The sequel is currently getting hyped like crazy and might prove to be a serious box-office threat against VODT.

It's the ultimate 2010's Fantasy vs. Sci-Fi! :D

Do you think it has as much of a cult following as the Chronicles? :)

I am not worried about Gullivers Travels at all.. TRON is going to give Narnia headaches, as it might take most of Narnia's 3D screens. That is such a shame. Hopefully TRON is just overhyped, but I doubt it. Why would there be so much buzz about a movie no one cares about?

Pfft, nobody even cared about TRON until it became this huge indie pop culture cred to claim to have been a fan before the sequel went into production. :P

Well, there was a lot of buzz around King Kong back in 2005, most people were very worried that it would really hurt LWW, but as we all know now, it didn't seem to have much of an effect at all.

Personally, I think the media is hyping it up more than anyone else. I don't really see all that much hype on the internet for it, and even less in the "real" world.

Check out "The Magician's Nephew" and "The Last Battle" trailers I created!

I'm a little worried about Potter. Its only released two weeks before VDT, but that might be just enough to give VDT a fighting chance. :)

Actually Harry Potter is going to be released 3 weeks after Narnia.

I wouldnt worry about Tangled interfering with Narnia since Tangled is released the week after HP. Because as long as HP is #1 at boxoffice, and believe me it will be #1 for at least 3 weeks, Tangled will be overshadowed and quickly forogtten. My guess is that the people who see tangled are the kids that are either too young to watch Harry Potter (which is looking rather dark compared to the others) or fans of Disney Princesses.

I believe that after 3 weeks of being #1, Harry Potter will move down to #2 at boxoffice when Narnia is released. I'm almost certain that Narnia will open at #1, but by how much is what's in question. So far there isnt much hype for this film. In order to get hype I suggest the international trailer by released before Megamind, HP 7, and Tangled.

Megamind looks like a funny movie that would attract a lot of kids and families...which is the target audience for the film. I'm sure the international trailer would seem cool to them.

Harry Potter obviously attracts a fantasy crowd, and since it will be seen by almost all middle/highschoolers I think it would be great to put the trailer infront of this movie. That way most people would know about the movie (cause lets face it, many people don't know this is coming out yet). Tangled attracts Disney fairy tale fans, and a film like VotDT would probably appeal to them. Also the fact that Tangled is a 3D film could make use of showing off Narnia's 3D effects in the trailer.

If Narnia has a strong opening and turns out to be a good movie, I would expect a strong word of mouth around the Christian families on Sunday and among kids at school. If the word of mouth is strong enough, the film could actually overshadow Tron during its opening week.

BUT! If Narnia has an underwhelming opening weekend and doesnt get great reviews, Tron will definitly take its place as #1 and then Narnia will quickly be forgotten when the rest of the December films open.

Gulp!

And if that happens, no SC, no MN, no HHB, and no LB... and the chances of them making any Narnia films again would be reduced.

However, I think it will recieve good reviews for the most part, as long as the 3-D is good, the digital isn't bad, the reviews aren't made by your average NWer (Joking ;) ) ... I mean extreme book purist, and as long as they're not made by someone who likes to give bad reviews or who has a previous bias against Narnia.
And most people said the screenings were excellent.

Oh ok, thanks Josh. I'm not worried about Tangled either. Honestly I think Tangled should be worried about VDT! ;)

I saw this Tangled poster board in my theatre...but there wasn't one for Narnia. :( Then again, there wasn't even one for Potter. Maybe Tangled NEEDS the extra advertisments. :p

Honestly, I was much more interested in Tangled before the trailers came out. There is nothing in the trailer that appeals to me whatsoever. I didnt laugh or even smile once. And the story doesnt seem much like Rapunzel.
