Yeah, Tourist should do quite well, but fortunately it is targeting a much different demographic than Narnia, so they should be able to thrive quite well together.

Ok I'm now a whole lot more worried about Tron than I was...
I was watching Disney Channel yesterday at my freind's house -saw a VDT TV spot by the way- and they had some of that behind the scenes/promotional stuff for Tron, we already know its PG which was unexpected, but it sounds like they're trying to sell it as a family film, like VDT, I'm guessing they're hoping that parents who saw the original will bring in their kids to see it.
Not to mention the Sci-fi and fantasy audience do tend to overlap- I myself am a sci-fi freak, and if you look at many fantasy books they have elements of scifi, like Dragonriders of Pern, or Narnia, and visa versa.
"The mountains are calling and I must go, and I will work on while I can, studying incessantly." -John Muir
"Be cunning, and full of tricks, and your people will never be destroyed." -Richard Adams, Watership Down
I'm really worried to. By Tron grabbing the pg rating it is now essentially a kids movie, and in direct competition with Narnia. King Kong was a very scary pg-13. Thats why alot of families chose TLWW over it. Here we have 4 kids movies showing all at the same time. Tangled as a hold over,Narnia,Tron and Yogi Bear. This doesn't bode well for some of these movies. I'm not sure which yet. Overall I think this a much tougher Christmas then in 2005.
And unfortuatly, I think most boys (unless already fans) would choose Tron over Narnia. I'll admit, it looks cool!
I think though that girls would rather watch Narnia. Not so much because Narnia is a girl's movie, but because Tron is definatly coming across as a boy's movie.
Winter Is Coming
I just watched the trailer for Tron, it looks SO stupid I see nothing whatsoever that would make me want to see it.
There are a few films released at the same time as VDT. One is Devil, about the devil in a lift containing five people. There is a Bollywood production as well as Megamind, which is currently getting newspaper backing. And Gulliver's Travels is coming out just before Christmas. I feel that on Thursday I will be between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea.
